SaintPaulVW added 18:21 - Oct 5 Big improvement in attitude. Players looked like they had a bit of fight in them. Archer scored after excellent work from Fernandes. Felt like a big improvement although sadly still no win. Lots of shifts put in, hats off to Aribo who was everywhere.

Second half much better but two goals started with missed placed passes in midfield,Downes guilty on a few occasions. Thought Aribo and Dibling also Fernandes looked up for the fight but there was only going to won winner in the end. Still not buying into R M and his way of playing but would love to be proven wrong,Onuachu should get another shot but we need to be able to put crosses in for him and don’t know if we can provide enough service as we rarely get down the offensive end enough.COYR.

I_would added 19:10 - Oct 5 Considering this was the seventh random starting eleven I thought the lads did quite well. The only thing stopping this squad from getting a win is the manager. RM should be arrested for ignoring tall Paul.

YosemiteSaint added 20:07 - Oct 5 A better outing than Bournemouth. But one has to ask where that was on Monday night. And how much longer can our team sheet be "randomly generated?" I still maintain that RM is a good Championship manager. But he's not ready for the Premier League.

Boris1977 added 20:31 - Oct 5 Diminishing returns with the boy genius in charge. Arsenal didn't look that great but like the rest of the teams in the league they know we'll provide them opportunities. The usual headless chickens act after the equaliser and when we need a manager to step up to change the formation or sub in a midfielder to at least try to shore up the middle of the pitch RM sat on his hands again. We do not look a bad team but we're a vital percentile away from getting a result. I think that difference is a manager who watches and reads the game rather than one that is obsessed by systems and thirds There are things to be positive about. I don't think RM can build on those positives and turn them into match winning matches

Bawdrip added 20:53 - Oct 5 First 10-15 minutes we were under intense pressure and looked like we could be in for a very heavy defeat. Not surprisingly there was a big gulf between the sides. To be fair we battled very well with Bednarek outstanding. Great goal by Archer but Arsenal well deserved their win in the end. Such a shame to see Stewart go off with what looks a nasty injury. I travelled up from Somerset by train and met an old friend (an Arsenal season ticket holder) for a drink so all in all a good day out with a battling performance and made Arsenal work for the three points.

UgandaSaint added 07:11 - Oct 6 So Bambi goes off clutching his thigh and we are told it's a calf injury. Lucky he got injured really because he would never had scored the chance that Archer scored. Let's hope Tall Paul plays against Leicester, he'll p*ss all over Vestergaard.

Downes under little pressure and with a ball over their right back on decides on tippy tappy with an attempted pass to our left back which is cut out. 3 seconds later the ball is in our net. Whilst I like Downes because he’s been coached to death in keep ball he doesn’t attempt the more adventurous pass which has less risk attached from a defensive perspective. It must be very difficult for a player who has had keep ball drilled into them to allow their creative side to come to the fore?!

When we scored I thought that as long as we didn't hand them a quick equalizer we might be in for an incredible point (that game was never going to have Arsenal 0 at the start of the result) but instead... The Russell curse is that this keeps happening and will keep happening. You don't sensational shock wins at places like Arsenal with tippy-tappy. If the owners are considering sacking him they should grasp the nettle and do it now. We'll be done by November if not. Russ said at the end that our season will not be defined by how we do at Arsenal. Great quote from the football manager's book of cliches and truisms but results against which opponents does he think our season WILL be defined by - Forest, Brentford, Ipswich, Bournemouth, or maybe Leicester????

Bowlercow added 11:33 - Oct 6 This performance gives us just a glimmer of hope for the rest of the season Tall Paul looked keen so who knows but just playing him gives the opposition something to worry about and if he should score a couple his price tag goes up The ref was a definite homer Three yellows for nothing,pulls us back when we take a quick free kick so where is the consistency.

harrapuk added 14:12 - Oct 6 Under RH we were the pioneers of the high pressing game. The only trouble is we could only ever keep it up for about 70 minutes so more often than not we gave goals away at the end. Now others teams have perfected the pressing game and we have moved onto this possession game and playing out from the back to a ridiculous extent. We take an age to get the ball forward whereas teams like Brentford get the ball forward as quick as possible and regularly score in the first few minutes of the match. The really worrying thing is that RM has no awareness of the issue, instead blaming defeats on lack of attitude or celebrating 3-1 defeats because the attitude was better. I really love his positiveness and he seems like a good man but unfortunately I don't think we can make any progress while he is in charge.

Jesus_02 added 23:37 - Oct 6 Second Arsenal Goal WAS offside. 23 was incorrectly judged to have not interfered with play , Bournemouth goal was chalked off in the same situation. We need consistency, saints need a but of luck.
