Johannes Spors who comes with a very good reputation worked with him at Leipzig, I guess he sees something in him and is pushing for it .
Wednesday are only 7 points off play offs.

Just look at the table. There are 3 teams in the Championship miles clear of the rest. Wednesday are 13th and sliding down the table. They are 31 points behind Leeds, have lost 2 more games than they've won and have a goal difference of -9. Rohl is performing even worse at Wednesday than Nathan Jones did at Luton and Russell Martin did at Swansea. Meanwhile, Ralph at Wolfsburg is well and truly disproving the ludicrous theory that his success was due to Rohl.
If we take an even more mediocre Championship manager than the previous ones, we can only expect even worse results. [Post edited 4 Mar 19:20]

Some of Alfred House's recent posts on Twitter don't exactly seem to be rebuffing the Rohl rumours.
The bit about the delay in him joining us until we are relegated just so that we can save a few quid on the compo to Sheff Wed is absolutely classic Saints, and adds a huge amount of credibility to the rumours. |  |

Eustace has a little more League managerial experience than (125 games) but they are all for clubs in the Championship and all the clubs were fighting relegation.
Rohl's experience is mainly as assistant. but assistant at RB Leipzig, Southampton, Bayern Munich & the German national team and now as a manager with 78 games in charge for Sheffield Wednesday, perhaps gives him more experience than Eustace.
He knows both the Championship and the Premier League, unlike say Selles, he has paid his dues and is now working his way up the managerial pecking order |  |

I think the key here is Johannes Spors who obviously rates him highly having worked with him before. We’re never going to get a top class proven manager as we don’t pay the dosh and who would want to come here knowing we don’t pay out on big transfers like Brighton and Bournemouth ffs. I can’t believe how far we’ve fallen but let Dragan ,Spors etc sort it out.

Three very reliable sources have now told me that Rohl has gone. No turning back whatever happens in the rest of this season. He's the Southampton manager when they are relegated. He probably will remain with us this season but that very much depends upon how things play out.
A very sad day. One of the best managers in my time. He should have been a legend, but we just don't have the structure in place to reach anyone's goals. Not the owner, fans, manager or players.
We will always be grateful for last season's miracle and this season's entertainment. He will leave us stronger than he found us. [Post edited 4 Mar 17:20]

A bit like Ralph in his best times, Rohl is likeable and might get the place going again after this terrible season. He saved Wednesday from relegation last season, when they were dead and buried. Wednesday have a very poor team. I would prefer him to any other random Championship manager or a random from abroad. I have a feeling that he would be a good fit (not sure why or where from). Wednesday were cut adrift last season and he galvanised the team. Saints would be a chance for him to really make a name for himself (at a club hopefully aiming for promotion). I would be happy with him but I could be completely wrong.... | |
