Is the multi-club structure leading to less accountability? 12:19 - Jan 8 with 1339 viewsJoiedevivre

Our chairman, Henrik Kraft, has his LinkedIn as front and centre 'Valenciennes Football Club'

The CEO of Sport Republic, a man who was in charge of our summer transfers, Rasmus Ankereson, is on a jolly in Turkey as President of Goztepe.

Phil Parsons works on the commercial side of things.

I don't like how the multi-club structure allows for a squirming of responsibility. Who is to blame and does this allow them to dispose of Saints' problems with their other responsibilities?

I'm surprised that no one is talking about the fourth team in the stable: FC Mali Coura.

According to the SR website:

"FC Mali Coura is a newly founded football club based in Mali, West Africa. The club competes in the Malian football league system, typically playing in lower divisions or regional competitions within the country.

"The core focus of the club is youth player development with the objective of building an environment that inspires high potential young football players to blossom.

"Sport Republic became the controlling shareholder of FC Mali Coura in the autumn of 2023."

They seem to be a p!ss-pot club even by the lofty standards of Malian football! I'm not sure that even SR could ruin them.

However, I think this gives a huge clue as to SR's so called strategy - they can succeed by buying cheap and selling for a lot. Unfortunately, this doesn't help Saints in any way and is doomed to failure, given that other Premier League clubs seem to be able to afford to spend big as well as scout players from around the globe.

From a business perspective the multi club model, as practised by Saints, is strategically doomed as there is absolutely no sustainable competitive advantage, which is what ultimately leads to shareholder value!
