He did a good job but the wheels well and truly came off that 3rd season and before the injuries came in. If you look back a lot of the wins were narrow ones which could have gone the other way and that eventually turned to losing close games instead.
I'm not sure he'd have lasted long into that 4th season if he had stayed, he'd already fallen out with the board and the DOF and was starting to lose fans but we'll never know
Thats the point though Dave. He fell out with the board (TF, Bhatia, etc) and the DoF (Les). He called them out and lost his job in that third season.
The owners are killing our club, not Mark Warburton, or Marti Cifuentes.

Alex Ferguson raised standards across every department at United and if what I was told by a member of staff at ours is right was the person who insisted we place crowd control barriers outside our main entrance so their players could walk in unaccosted by fans,
Warburton is this person, he upsets lazy under-performing types, in whatever department,
I have hope Reuben has more sense than a lot of our fans with their...but we tailed, but we went sideways, but he raised his voice at the Academy staff,
Ffs, wake up, see whats in front of your eyes, every department bar the Community Dept is an effing car crash.

We have benevolent but largely absent and pretty clueless owners. I'm sure they'd love to sell it if they could, but it's a heavily loss making thing with little scope for expansion and it's hemmed in by FFP so it's little wonder they haven't found takers. The worry is always if they decide they've had enough, or are driven out, and there isn't another fool to write that cheque then what does that future look like.
For them to be successful here they need a good manager for sure, but more importantly a really experienced, competent, grown up person in that DOF role sitting between the chequebook and the manager.

Well, yeh, but it's a vast sport. Most clubs have people in that role now. Other folk are available who haven't been at QPR before.
QPR can be rather guilty of always looking for a returning figure from the past to come bail us out, there are lots of people out there. Though of course people like that do bring a welcome understanding of the club and its fans presently lacking.
Experience is the key though, for me. It's a really difficult club and job.

Yes agree with that.Given the finances we are now going to have to be lucky with loans.My sense is we are in trouble, when it goes against you as a club it really does turn against you.Sometimes I think back you get ten year periods where a club can do no wrong, every buy comes off.Wharburtom remindied me what a decent team he had and that turned against him.The team is continually being asked to get them selves out of difficult situations,Once ok twice?.Tough ,tough job.Use all the contacts we have got for a premiership loanee ,a youngster or too.I hope the team is working on something now.

Q) Warburton wants another Managers Job A) That's his preference but may accept DoF role working with Cifuentes, who may have had enough already (can you imagine being told at work you're new boss will be a 26 year old with zero experience, anyone sane would just think wtf)
Q) Did'nt burn his bridges A) They both seem to speak positively of each other
Q) Other experienced options A) QPR must be seen as a basket case by now, we're a cash-cow rather than a career move for anyone with any integrity & ability (we need both)

Totally agree. A half-fit Willock is streets ahead of Andersen. It's pretty clear that Andersen only looked as good as he did from February to the end of last season, because Willock and Chair were playing alongside him for most of the time and either/or both of them were double marked whenever they had the ball, making it a lot easier for Andersen.

I actually think the absolute opposite. After all those years of working the markets for huge Corporates, in the DOF role he will have a grasp of discipline and overreach that very few other candidates would have. I actually think from looking at his skillset he would be a better DOF than manager. I think that would be his absolute forte.
I know he's fallen out with the hierarchy as a manager, but that's totally understandable as he has the awareness to see where they are going wrong. At the level above, especially given the free reign that Noury** is given he can implement the policies that he could see were sadly lacking previously. Sink or Swim, and to my mind he would swim.

Though anyone can write anything at any time, of course, I find it quite bewildering and troubling to be writing a piece about MC's exit, unless you do, at some level, want him out.
Perhaps you're already also writing a puff piece about Warburton coming in by the same token? But why stop there? As any manager will be sacked sooner or later, perhaps we could have a 'say hello, wave goodbye' Soft Cell-type greeting for all future incumbents, welcoming them to the club while speculating about the manner of their departure.
It's a strange time to be a QPR supporter, that's for sure, and it looks like just about everyone is losing the plot, or following their own agendas, one way or another.
