First off this was a terrible tragic event.

But I’m interested if anyone saw what was going on before the incident. I’m asking the question because a year ago various posts online stated this person was extremely drunk to such a level that he should not been allowed entry.

I didn't see it myself, but I did read posts and responded to a few in the Echo comments from fans that were. They were pretty clear that the guy (and his friend?) certainly wasn't drunk and they were pretty shocked by all of these drunk claims. They said the incident was terrible to witness and from the perspective of the poor chap that this happened to. I don't know who these people were who claimed he was drunk, but they weirdly all disappeared after the event and never commented again. Even when I followed up with a few of them to check why they claimed such a thing

I can only find claims online of being very drunk and staggering around trying to find their seats before kick off.

My friends were very close to it.
They didn't say he appeared drunk.
I don't want to speculate wildly about such a sad incident but I seem to remember that it was a heart issue that caused him to fall initially.
