I go to see the R’s several times a year - but I am like an albatross when it comes to seeing them picking up three points. The last time I saw them win was Ian Holloway’s first game back as manager, when they beat Naaarch 1-0 at Loftus Road about 8 years ago. I’m going to see the R’s on Tuesday night. What odds on me seeing them finish winning a rare 3 points?

After shitting the bed so early that could easily have turned ugly.

I thought we showed fight & desire, lacked some quality of course but we stopped the rot.

Some positive displays from Varane, Saito, Nardi and an improving Chair. Special mention to the young lad Morgan what a high that must be.

Total underdogs for the games to come but they are championship teams, not champions league. Anything can happen.

Same here. Nowhere good enough, but much better.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

I thought Smyth was by some distance our best player. Very good cross for Morgan’s goal and three or four other really good crosses that Celar should have got nearer to. Why he was taken off is a mystery.

Sauce? 14, 173 according to the Beeb. (Though it didn't look like it on my stream!)

ST’ers who don’t attend are still counted.

It’s not really an attendance figure, more of a tickets sold figure.

It's almost as if Cifuentes didn't want, or trust us, to win. Which is crazy, obviously.

Poll: What should the club do now (assuming no imminent change of owners)?

Even if he had the good grace to drop Madsen, Cifuentes' decision to take off Smyth for the last 10m (exactly when you want him), who was flying and assisted for the goal, was cretinous, and for me dismally conservative. As was his refusal to sub off Celar at h/t (if not sooner). Increasingly, I start to feel, he's part of the problem.

We ran around a bit, and were resilient, but, mama mia, do we lack creative quality or what?

On the positive side, Field raised his game, Chair was better, and Saito was tricky at times. Smyth had his best game in a Rangers shirt for me. Clarke-Salter was cool and composed, and Nardi kept us in it once or twice, again. And hats off to Morgan for a wonderful goal.

On the other hand, Varane did little of value, Dembele disappointed again, and Celar has surely burned up his last dregs of credit with even the most rose-tintedly bespectacled Rs fan. He was a miasma of futility.

As things stand, I can't see us climbing out of the bottom 3 for any number of reasons:

1. Lack of midfield (creativity).
2. Lack of goals.
3. Tactical fragility/too many stupid substitutions.
4. Thin, dismally unbalanced squad.
5. We still can't win games of football.

Anyone feeling any more hopeful?

Anyone?

I'm hopeful that we'll now improve so that you can reduce your posts.
Nice calling someone cretinous by the way. Classy.

I'm Smyth'd biggest critic as I know he won't play like this every week or even every month. But it feels very harsh to bring him off and bring on Harrison Ashby

He went down with I presume cramp or something just before, I think that's why.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

What an absolutely hopeless display.

Celar is rubbish. Why is he playing. Has he even had a shot yet this season, let alone a fckin goal? 10 appearances, no goals. That isn't a great record.

Andersen is dire. His best move is the slow back pass. What is the point?

No leadership. No creativity. No basics. Just back passes and shots over the bar.

FUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKK!!!!!!

Celar would have to actually beat a defender to a ball to get off a shot. He is never where he should be, and is never first to anything

O lighten up and come down off your PC high horse! It WAS cretinous, idiotic, unfathomable, or any other adjective you want to use in that lexical domain.

And I don't have to defend my posts against fans like you who can't/won't read them properly and just want to set me up as some kind of board scapegoat for expressing a view very much in keeping with the general assessment. (In fact, half of what I said was positive about the performance, actually, so you're mostly making yourself look stupid as well as malicious!)

We weren't great but deserved a point. Still very worrying though - we do look like a relegation waiting to happen.

Their goal was idiotic. Nardi's made a great save and someone kicks the ball back to them to have another go. Just clear the effing thing!

Upfront is a real issue. We have fewer options than last season and it's very hard to see where the goals are going to come from.

Him and Morgan were a marked improvement on Chair and Dembele who were both woeful.
Saito should be starting every game.

A number of us in lower Loft thought he’d picked up a knock and was limping slightly.
Played well tonight.

The reality is we haven't won at home again and still cannot keep a clean sheet. Two home games against sides now in the bottom 3 and we muster one point. By contrast three home wins for Cardiff in a row, who were in the bottom 3, without conceding a goal, against three teams we couldn't beat at home.

Jan Celar had, wait for it, 12 touches of the ball.

I hope someone's kept the receipt

Agree Seen nothing from Dembele to think he is any better than the rest of the dud signings.Varane and Saito may still be useful...but they still have a lot to do. Nardi is the only one who convinces me. He is getting plenty of chances to shine as well given what's in front of him.

Yes, I was confident we'd stay up last season but I'm the opposite now. We can't keep clean sheets and struggle to score: it's only going to end one way doing that.

It was a painful watch alright. Can't believe we are so dreadful. If Coventry had tried to get a second instead of sitting back...we would have lost easily. They are not in form, but like Cardiff...will in all likelihood improve. We look like we haven't hit rock bottom yet.

Saito man of the match for me, put in a good shift at emergency left wing back, surprisingly decent in the air, and always positive with the ball.

That last point is so important, I’ve run out of patience with this team that seem so desperate to turn back and play safe with the ball. Only Saito, Smyth and Chair ever seem to look to attack.

Second point is a tired old one but we look so weak to second balls and tackles. Andersen of all people came on and started getting stuck in and showed how it was done.

Got to feel for Celar but he’s not a target man, he can’t run onto through balls and today we put in several decent crosses and he was nowhere near them. Hard to see what he actually does

Anyway my Coventry neighbour thought we looked good and dangerous and we were unlucky so maybe we’re all getting a bit harsh
