5 at the back ? Why tinker

Swansea Game Matchday Thread on 14:37 - Dec 26 with 3607 views | City_boy | Why the need to change to a defensive set up and bring Stephens back, when we have Alcaraz on bench. This has all the markings of a 0-0. We are at home against a team who are not exactly setting the the league on fire, and we bring Stephens back. Why ??? I hope I am wrong, but I don't have a good feeling about this at the moment.

Magic Martin has managed to shoehorn Jack Stephens back into the starting line-up somehow... despite us being pretty solid at the back recently. Maybe it's because if there is one team who know exactly how we're going to play - it's Swansea. It "could" be a masterstroke by the gaffer. I'll let you know about 4.55 p.m. this evening!

I don’t agree. We are unbeaten after 15 games. Stephens will get his chance. We have looked dodgy at the back today and with better finishing could be two down. Great run by Edozie for the goal.

Agree, Swansea have had 2 gilt chances, both from where Stephens left gap on the right. He keeps defaulting to his central position.
Swansea Game Matchday Thread on 15:51 - Dec 26 with 3406 views | 1885_SFC | HT and so far so good. I'm not sure what Jack Stephens is adding to our game by playing him where he has? Once again, it's all about Saints getting that second goal which always seems so elusive.

Well He adds nothing but space for swansea cause He doesn't know where to Position himself... Adding to that it takes one of the strengths of KWP a bit out of the game. But Martin somehow had to fit him obviously. Aribo has been poor too, but Well the goal makes up for a bit...

Crazy bringing Stephen’s back just as he is fit and disrupting the team That said 3 nil and up to 3rd!

Swansea Game Matchday Thread on 17:06 - Dec 26 with 3189 views | City_boy | Great result, There seemed to be a bit more urgency today, but Swansea were poor. They had two clear. chances early in 1st half, but after that they weren't; really in the game. I still didn't understand the need to find a place for Stephens ? He had a couple of runs, but got caught 3 times and didn't really add much. When we reverted KWP to RB, He was just as affective in defence and going forward, which proved Stephens was a luxury today. Good all round performance. My 3 call outs go to KWP, Edozie and Fraser. Swansea Game Matchday Thread on 17:07 - Dec 26 with 3186 views | mushinexile | Yes. Just what we need; goals by the hatful and Leeds to trip up. Wins are great but goals close up the gap that split equal teams. More of the same, please. I'll trade 25% possession for a couple more in the net every time
