If he is talking to other clubs you would presume he has already sorted out his severance payment from Saints, otherwise we would be holding him to ransom.
Most manager agree severance fairly quickly in case a job comes up, other wise they could be compelled to take a really low pay out or face losing the new job | |

As I said "Most managers" Ralph said that he wanted a break from football long before he left, he was clearly in no hurry if he is indeed still being paid his full wages, so didn't need to accept an offer.
Jones would probably have done his fairly quickly given he wants to get back into management, so he needs to be free to take up an offer, if he is still on big wages and he gets offered a job, then it is likely Saints would say yes the offer is now we will release you from your contract for free rather than pay him off, that would not be a good deal for him financially.

I am sure you are right regarding Jones, but, just for a minute, can you imagine if the situation was not sorted and he wanted to accept the Swansea job? With the unresolved situation over RM's compensation to then add this into the mix would probably tear a small hole in the space / time continuum. You'd probably have more chance of platting fog... |  |
