Next week - Who invented the skip?
Following week - Ryan Manning tackling a fish & chip supper?

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

I remember this, these days pedestrian shopping areas were the norm back then it meant shutting off roads and putting a few bollards up at each end

Incidentally the skip was invented by a man called Skip O,Halloran an Australian crocodile hunter and the man who Crocodile Dundee was based on, he invented it as a safety device when hunting crocs.

If you got chased by one you could jump in the metal receptacle and the croc was unable to get at you.

Crocodiles being resolute animals or reptiles would wait for days so Skip would leave provisions in the container, he then found he needed somewhere to throw the wrappers into so he would utilise a second receptacle nearby to throw rubbish in and an idea was born.

When he went to Sydney he patented his idea and it was originally called an O,Halloran but that was a bit wordy so he used his real first name which was Dusty, that lasted a couple of years before he was sued by an English game show, so he stopped calling it a Dusty Bin and changed it to a Skip at the same time doing a deal with Thames Tv that they would give it away as a prize in several of their shows including Bullseye.

The rest as they say is history

Have they got the Vape shops at the Christmas market this year. Nothing says more about the romance of Christmas and peace on earth, than celebrating with a Vape.
