Just spotted his Bournemouth contract finishes in the summer. I'm not sure he'd want to stay with us but if he did and we could afford him, would you want him at QPR on a perm? I would.

29 on lots of money and his career is on the way down so its a no from me plus he's been terrible for 75% of the games

Need to remember these players have been awful for months and 2 games doesn't change that

But you're not giving any credit to the psychological impact of change and disruption at your workplace when you say that, are you?
Imagine having 4 bosses in the space of less than a year? You would be left wondering which way was up, especially if you thought at least two of them were twots..

Ahh bless the poor little lambs

They haven't done the basics for months and the majority need to be fcked off

Don't think for 1 minute he will come to us. Someone will outbid us.

But let's argue that he has a soft spot and takes a home town discount... what's style will.we be paying next year? Is he a good fit for that? If we play this "Park the bus" style then he is a waste of money.

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

Hasn't been a waste of money over the past few games where he's been a much needed hold up and lay outlet and been involved in a good proportion of the goals we've scored in that time.
As others have said, since he's been a regular starter in GA's team, he clearly recognises that he has a key role to play.

No for me . He goes missing for large parts of the game and a despite our late season flurry, he hasn’t done enough to warrant making him an offer.

Hmmmm - really ??
I'm optimistic about next season, but I think you might be pushing the bounds of reality a little too far if you think we're going to be doing better than Jamal Lowe in the acquisition department.
I suggest you go back and look over the last few games again and see how much he's contributed to the goals we have scored.
Would you want to keep Lyndon Dykes purely on HIS scoring record? I suspect you would also say "No", but, same thing, you know what he contributes to the team as a whole.

100% would take him all day. Pace, experience and can play wide or up front. Sort of player Sinclair could thrive playing with. Just wish he wore shin pads

Lowe hasn't had four managers at Rangers although he has had four in the season.

However, I don't think you can include what happened prior to signing for us in the mix. Especially as we were meant to be his way out of not playing first team football.

I liked what I saw of him at previous clubs, but I don't think he has come close to those levels with us.

OK - but if you know that the talent is there, and that he can do the job that you're looking for him to do, and - particularly important for our current manager, as we know well - that his character and attitude is on point (which I genuinely believe it is, in spite of other people's reservations), wouldn't you take the comparatively small risk of inviting him back into the squad for next season, assuming the finances allow it?

Too old, too expensive, too inconsistent. Talented, sure, but that in itself is not enough to overcome the other issues.

But you've also got to factor in who you'd have as a replacement. Do you genuinely believe that we'll be able to find someone who has the level of consistency that you're looking for, who's younger and cheaper?
Sure - we could get lucky and find someone who's done it at a lower level, but how quickly will he adapt to the Championship?

I gave no comment as to whether I would sign Lowe or not. I just pointed out that you had made an incorrect statement!

However, as you insist, I will give a sit on he wall judgement. I could not make any decision until the following questions were answered. Neither should you:-

1) How much would Bournemouth want as a transfer fee?
2) What salary would Lowe require?
3) How long a contract would he desire?
4) How much would his agent charge?
5) What type of player would be my priority?
6) What other players would be available?
7) What is the overall budget & how much can be afforded on one player?
8) Would he be a first eleven choice or a squad player?
9) Am I looking for a goalscorer or a supporting forward?
10) Which players are leaving?

Would I sign him to replace a departed Dykes? Not a chance! Would I sign him to support Dykes (or replacement)? I really don't know, but I don't rate him as highly as Wells, a player that we could not afford. However, Lowe is the only one of our loanees (I'm not including Richards in this as he will be our player) that I would consider.

Well I'll answer 1) Out of contract players are free at his age.

Not for me. He’s far too “lightweight “

We need someone who’s mean, lean and a fighting machine. Sort of like Dykes but scores double or more Dykes goals .

Don’t ask me who thought. That’s for the SOF and scouts to find.

I seriously can’t believe that anyone who has been watching the team this season could really want to see Lowe and/or Martin starting next season with us. Or is it just me

Well Gaz has already decided he wants to keep Chris Martin, as I posted earlier, TDS, so I'd say its not looking great for you so far..

He is not my type of player....I do not think he has done too much since he has been here. He has gone missing for long periods in games, but I suppose most of them have after October 2022 when we topped the league.

Jamal Lowe on 16:03 - May 1 with 736 viewsMatch82

Thought he looked really sharp first couple of games, decent in the last couple and awful in between.

I think there's talent there but all things being equal the more distance we can put between associating next season with this season, the better. On that basis alone I wouldn't have any of the loanees back
