I grew up watching and loving The Sweeney. Minder wasn't bad - but I'll always remember him for his part alongside John Thaw as part of the flying squad. It was a good, gritty drama back in the day.

Agreed that was a stain on his career, as an actor he was typecase as the cockney hardman, but he has been a child actor and also played in Royal Shakespeare Company productions and other stage productions throughout his career as well as other film and seried on tv.
He will always be remembered for the two roles in the Sweeney & Minder. |  |

He was a golfing buddy of a friend of mine and apparently a really nice bloke. Also owned the local pub to the golf course for a few years in the 2010s.
