It does not really matter what all you guys think to be honest. I consider it ti be a serious insult and will not tolerate it unless I have to by threat of violence.

In law being called a 'sheepshagger' has a precedent in law as seen in the enclosed wiki page. Based on this precedent it is RACIALLY AGRRAVATED DISORDERLY BEHAVIOUR".

"In Prestatyn, Wales, the phrase was the subject of a 2013 court case, after Anthony Taaffe of Bolton, Greater Manchester, England, a guest at a holiday park in Gronant, called an off-duty policeman and security staff "a bunch of sheep-shaggers". Taaffe claimed, in his defence, that the phrase was "a term for people living in the countryside". He also admitted a second similar offence, in which he called a police officer, at the custody unit to which he had been taken, a "Welsh sheep shagger". Taaffe was fined £150 after he admitted racially aggravated disorderly behaviour.[2][14]""

Therefore 'Sheep stuff' is equated to being on a par with monkey and banana jibes in the eyes of Her Majesty's Courts. This is the core of my argument. Zero tolerance at Swansea city. I do not think so.

Good question. Unlikely i think. A case of fans racially abusing themselves was dropped by the CPS.

That's an awful victim mentality you're harbouring.

I was subjected to racist abuse. It was scary for my young colleagues in particular. I have the right to enjoy football with out being intimidated for my Celtic heritage. I call it out for what it is. I do not claim to be a victim at all. I forgot about it very quickly. Anyone who uses such humour with me will be advised it is racist in law.

I don't think anyone is arguing that you were abused mate. That guy was out of order and deserves a clip. I just think the sheepshagger part is irrelevant.

You’re blurring two issues. Nobody is disagreeing with the intimidation aspect.

I agree that it’s down to interpretation. To me, ‘they were told by their Welsh betters…’ is a genuinely racist mindset.

Welsh fans and vulgur obscenity by ReslovenSwan1 21 May 2021 16:47
I argue 'Sheep banter' is no joke and the South Wales Constabulary need to crack down on it. I also claim it is low end racist and regularly hate driven.

These three morons must be a little confused. They are told by their Welsh betters that this is banter and a bit of fun. They must be a little confused. The rules of the game is you take it and give it back. Sorry it does not work like that. You take it and when you give it back you are arrested.

‘Sheepshaggers’I would guess is just the most convenient insult to hurl at a Welshman. I’m sure he’d have thought of something else if you were from Pakistan. The aggression and intimidation part, especially in front of young people, is disgusting. 100% with you there.

Following incidents such as this, I can see why players would still feel it’s necessary to take the knee to highlight the issue of racism in the game.

How does taking the knee end racism?

I don't understand what these gestures do. Just like the pre-match handshake. What does that do for fair play? Has it done anything at all? Do players not foul, dive, exaggerate injuries and cheat in general because of this pointless gesture?

It does nothing but keep the virtue signallers happy.

Swans player racially abused again on twitter on 11:27 - Aug 26 by ReslovenSwan1

I have been called a 'sheepshagger' four times in banter and in the spirit of education and development pointed out it is not funny and in my view discriminatory. I am like that. Twice it got a good response and twice it did not.

On numerous occasions i have been in close proximity to opposing fans, some vary shadey characters with pale skin cropped hairdos and neck tatts with an extremely aggressively delivery of sheep banter associated with menace and a threat of violence. On one occasion this has been with young family members. I was quite fearful. In this case I did not confront the person or seek to educate them for my own well being.

I do not trivialise anything. Accusing Welsh families of being deviant in an aggressive manner is not something that should be condoned or tolerated. Some people like me are proud to be Welsh.

Celts are a branch of white Indo European tribes. (a 'Race') All Welsh teams are treated like this not just Swansea. The hate is focused on 'the Welsh' and only the Welsh by the English far right and their sympathisers.

Saying England 'is full of shit' is on the other hand not racist. This should be obvious to you. You clearly do not understand what racism is. The fans of Brighton are targeted with homo phobic taunts. It is illegal.

If an English man calls you a 'sheepshagger' to your face you are not offended (assuming you are Welsh) . I am. Different strokes for different folks. Some Black people brush off Monkey taunts.

Getting hot under the collar on one racist insult in cyber space is fine but ignoring 1000 snarling Millwall fans making sheep noise and the Swansea team bus seems perfectly OK to some. Its downright wierd.

So in your mixed up world you get to decide whats offensive , you're grown up man hows about acting like one , A Millwall/ or any other supporter of any other Club fan may or may not attack an opposing fan and not because someone Welsh or have perversity of loving a animal, give over FFS , based on your premise all Cardiff fans love a Swans fan

…. and flush out the racists, don’t forget that.

It seems it’s okay to protest against players kneeling in solidarity for a few seconds, but it’s not okay for players to kneel in solidarity for a few seconds in protest.

Do I have to answer every stupid question that gets posted on this board? How does taking the knee stop racism? Who said it would, because I didn’t. This debate will go on forever with you repeating the same things over and over so until you come up with something new/better you will not convince me that players kneeling in protest/solidarity for a few seconds is a bigger issue than racism. You’ve tried saying racism isn’t an issue and you equated the knee to the nazi salute and Marxist politics and I’m not buying any of that so what else have you got?

Taking the knee is a gesture. It is a show of support,a token of white people's shame.

It is also an exercise in curing corporate guilt.

Nothing will change until minds change and bending the knee or elbow isn't going to do that.

It simply drives hatred underground

You haven't quoted me at all in order to misquote me, you have just made up my views like you usually do.

I haven't equated anything to anything. I haven't likened the knee to a Nazi salute at all, I likened the scenario to the swastika symbol, if that is what you are referring to? Both the knee and the Swastika are political symbols, but they also originated in more peaceful circumstances. Hence the link, maybe it went over your head?

My point with the comparison is that if a symbol is heavily steeped in far left/right politics then using it to represent something else isn't going to get universal agreement because it means different things for different people regardless of intent. Especially when the clubs themselves made the political link only last year.

As for saying racism isn't a problem, you keep saying I have said that, but I am yet to see where. I have said it's an issue, but mainly online due to trolling as the knee and the debate surrounding it ensures its a hot topic and they get max value in attention terms for their comments. It's rare you will come across it in real life... in the countries that seem to be insistent on this gesture, at least.

As for BLM and their far left agenda, there is nothing to buy. It's fact.

It's probably best you understand my views and maybe the topic in general before incorrectly and (probably intentionally) clumsily summarising them. It doesn't put your views in a very strong light.

So what’s the bigger issue for you then? Racism or a few blokes taking a knee for a few seconds?

I think I know the answer because you have plenty to say about one of them, whilst the other is not really much of a problem, besides a few trolls.

My objection to 'taking the knee' is that it is a bodge job. Every time when commentators describe its meaning it changes a little.

The 'knee' started as a protest against police brutality against Blacks in the USA. It was then adopted and associated with BLM and a broader more political leftist agenda. Birch and Swansea city did not do any checking it seems and put their resources to the services of the BLM cause without payment. The infamous photo from the training ground was on the website for weeks.

The FA (of all people- mostly white middle aged blokes) realising heir mistake perhaps, re branded 'the knee' as a generic "message " against 'all forms of discrimination'. This has morphed into all forms of discrimination based on race. Our own Andre Ayew decided it was about race and did the fist salute. This was either a tribute to the black causes or simply and generic leftist salute supporting the disadvantages of Africa perhaps.

As far as I am concerned the knee is a protest against police brutality in the main. We have these issues also in the UK with the Dalian Atkinson killing and a recent death in Cardiff. The players had such little thought on this issue that the Dalian Atkinson death barely registered with them. Footballers have been encourage to stay away from political issues and now it is open house. Lets face it they are young and often not well educated. Why are they giving "messages" to anyone? It is the club that should be giving messages not left to the judgement of occasionally teenage footballers.

The players are sending their message to the fans which suffers from mission creep. It may as well say "be nice and love your Mam".

Out of curiosity, how did you gather this person was far right and even further than that, fascist? That must have been one hell of a political tirade

He had all the paraphernalia of the EDF. Cropped hair neck tattoo bugling eyes and a deep hatred of all non English. Leftist organisations normally focus their spleen on the police rather than other ethnic groups.

He believed he could racial abuse Welsh people on their own soil and not get arrested. He was right. A citizens arrest was a step too far for me and i am not sure I would have got support off the meek South Wales constabulary who talk zero tolerance but do not enact it unless is something clerical like on line stuff where they can do a 6 am raid on a school boy from Saltash. Lovely down there this time of year.

I might have got a broken jaw and my fellow fans would have told me i was a 'snowflake' and should get used to my family being racially abused and insulted.

Sounds like a bit of a leap. I don’t think bulging eyes or a haircut suggests what someone believes politically. Otherwise Mezut Ozil would find himself in a world of issues.
