INS, OUTS, SQUAD UPDATES & LINKS 2021-22 on 21:41 - Jun 9 by Badlands | Liam Walsh Bristol, latest name connected with us. 124 minutes last season! Muscle thigh strain until March three games then hamstring for the rest of the season. |
Perhaps we’re just getting him in to help out with the kit?

INS, OUTS, SQUAD UPDATES & LINKS 2021-22 on 09:17 - Jun 8 by jasper_T | Buendia cost Norwich only twice what we paid for Whittaker. Pukki was a free transfer. Barnsley made the playoffs with the second smallest wage budget in the division. Brentford have been producing their own assets instead of developing those owned by other clubs. They bought Toney and still made a £50m transfer profit. We only sold Rodon while Liverpool made a mint offloading Brewster. |
Swasnea need to be in the same market as Peterborough not Brentford. Toney for example was signed for less thsn £1m by Peterbrough at 22 from Newcastle. He had a good goalscoring record in the lower leagues whle on loan, Swansea could easily have signed him but were developing McBurney. Similarly Swansea could have signed Clark Harris 12 month ago for well south of £1m. Piggott has been talked about but the plunge not taken. It is easy to criticise the club but they are actually trying to do this. Joseph for example has had some lower league experience. Whittaker is also a long term plan. It is clear teams that play good football get better fees for their players. It used to happen with Swansea.

Maybe it's Steve Cooper's leaving card?

I fear that might be wishful thinking. I don’t think the club would sanction Woodman’s transfer if they know Cooper might be leaving. Alternatively perhaps Woodman wants Cooper to commit before doing the same himself. It will be a very interesting week or two

I would hope that the club wouldn't sanction Woodman's transfer even if he was.

Yes, I’m no hater of his but I’d prefer more of a physical presence whose distribution was better.

This thread was excellent in a previous transfer window - which stood head and shoulders above any other forum's transfer efforts. Would be great if somebody could refresh it, and capture all of the Remainers and Leavers as they transpire. I'll start with: Manager : #1 - Steve Cooper? = Remainer Thanks for this thread A_K. .

All managers and CEOS have said getting players, especially those settled in or from UK, can be difficult because of our geographical location. Jenkins paid well over the odds to persuade the likes of Clucas to transfer!

Having a trial with Portsmouth. Out of contract but Millwall would be due development compensation, speculation that it could go into seven figures. It was reported that Millwall said that we made a “derisory” offer for him before his contract expired.

Been injured and not progressed much unfortunately. Not the easiest of seasons, he was coming from six months away from u16s football going on trials all over Europe, to getting regular u23s minutes in a depleted squad here. We've signed a fair few wingers above and behind him now.

Twist my arm... Hansen (GK Everton), Abdullai (DM/CB Leicester, Rangers) and Leverett (CM Leeds) all played in the Sheff Utd u23s game as trialists. It's on youtube. Abdullai had a good game, and I thought Leverett had a very good first half but faded. Not entirely sure when Abdullai left Rangers, he seems to have been on trials for a while before Leicester picked him up and he was only there a few months before heading out on trials again. No comment on Ben Margetson. Surprised Ben Erickson seems to be back, but we needed numbers in defence in the u23s, and he had terrible luck with injuries. Tarrelle Whittaker's a winger from Spurs. In the u18s Ben Hughes (GK Chippenham Town) has been involved with Wales youth sides. David Roberts (CB), Filip Lissah (CB), Zane Myers (LB) have all come from Chelsea (I'd heard one more from there as well but he's not listed on the site at the moment). Richard Faakye comes from Palace, an athletic LCB/LB. Kieran Petrie (Arsenal) is a winger. Charlie Veevers (CM Man Utd) was considered too good an opportunity to pass up even though we're really well stocked in midfield at u18s level. Cotterill, Lloyd, Congreve and Josh Carey all expected to develop as central players, although Ben Lloyd will probably get a lot of football out wide as he's pacey and carries the ball well. And probably won't spend much time in the u18s before moving up. Should have the numbers to avoid cancelling any games this season, and not have scholars pulling double duty with both teams. New academy boss and recruitment team been earning their corn. I'm still a bit miffed we let Morgan Clarke go though. Don't think I'm the only one, either.

I watched him once for Zagreb and he was very good, played at the base of midfield dictating like Grimes does but without Grimes defensive nous and tenacity. When the game turned against them late on he was hooked, bit harsh as he had little support around him. Was on a plane to join with Wales u21s a couple of hours later. Played further forward at Arsenal, more a creative 8/10. Technically gifted.
