If you're watching the Oxford play off, my Oxford supporting mate says Rob Atkinson (22, ball playing CB) isn't far off where Dickie was at this point last year.

I think we need to bring in another CB. Perhaps Oxford might be interested in a part exchange deal involving Shodipo for Atkinson?

Wanted to see what Luke Gabutt of Blackpool was like but he went off injured.
He was replaced by James Husband who looked very solid at both L/B and as a left sided C/B.
Ex Norwich ,Fulham and Middlesbrough.
thought Dougall looked good
On 27 July 2018, Dougall joined League One side Barnsley on an initial two-year deal with an option for a further year for an undisclosed fee.[11] On 15 March 2019 Dougall suffered a broken leg in a match, initially attempting to play on.[12]
Dougall was released by Barnsley on 25 June 2020.[13]
Played on with a broken leg, sounds like the right sort
Thought Daniel Ballard, the Blackpool right centre back, was the best defender on show. On loan from Arsenal - could be one for next season?
Also liked the look of Mark Sykes and looking him up he's out of contract (albeit with Oxford having the option to extend). Also alarmingly for an attacking midfielder, he has 1 goal in 80+ games.

Is Field good enough? If he didnt play enough on loan to trigger an option???...
I can only think that playing Two up top was the only reason for Sam Field not starting more matches. When he has played we have been more competitive and solid in the M/F area.
Tony Paulis said in 2017 “technically he’s as good and as gifted aa any footballer at that age”
He would be an excellent investment in my view.

Perfect move for Joe - vacant spot at this level and a deeper backline in front of him. Expect he'll do great.
Understandable. He wants and will get first team football. Unless we sell Dieng (unlikely), he wouldn't get it at QPR.

Allardyce is leaving WBA. I hope that doesn't stymie our moves for Austin and Field.
What a stupid move that was by WBA. Sacked what seemed to be a decent manager for one who couldn’t keep them up and doesn’t fancy it a division below. Shot themselves in each foot there.

There was a long read in The Athletic about WBA a few weeks back talking about how there has been a lack of investment in the squad - even with the money from the Prem - and how important it was for Allardyce to say, not only for his experience but as a statement by the club that he knew there would be money to spend on new players.
Not looking great for them at the moment.

Got very shirty on MOTD last night when the reporter had the temerity to ask him about it!
