Trust statement on 21:06 - Mar 15 with 5430 views | DaleiLama | Good to hear. The worry was that the Trust seemed to be nearly as quiet as the club. Of course lockdown is making everything more difficult, but if the trust can't or won't challenge the club the situation would be even more worrying. Look forward to reading the minutes of the meeting and a welcome update this.

The Trust seem fully aware of the understandable disquiet amongst supporters. I hope they can coax those at the club into realising the damaging consequences of their words and actions, or inactions.

Actions speak louder than words. Fans Charter, MOU, apologies. Even the kit thing (yes, I know), is quite laughable as fans could have easily been even more involved than normal by the Trust/supporters being asked to attend Zoom meetings. Instead you might have a situation where players are getting more of a say as in the past. It’s basics. Oh, and fans had zero input into the 17/18 template home kit. Really do hope we see some change, however this has gone on for a decade and more and it requires the club to acknowledge that supporters not only deserve to know more, but they should be the first thought in decision making that impacts them, resulting in immediate consultation via agreed routeways. Maybe this will achieve that, but we’ve been here before.

Trust statement on 19:39 - Mar 21 with 3717 views | DaleFan7 | Fairly sure we've been here before and heard this all before. The fan/club divide has been evident for years. Will believe any actions when I see them and not just token ones until the start of next season. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Supporters Charter is a great initiative if it is a binding contract between supporters and club and not merely platitudes

Trust statement on 19:51 - Mar 21 with 3679 views | Sandyman | Some useful info in there but yet again, the club are fudging the BBM contract issue with a complete lack of openness and claims of "a genuine mix-up". If it was a genuine mix-up, why didn't the CEO put it right on the night? Or a day or two after, or when Rochdale Online asked? Despite the welter of correspondence from fans on the night of the forum onwards, they still won't give anyone an answer to the relevant questions. This is unheard of anywhere when it comes to a contract extension that has already, unbelievably, been handed out. Are they writing a melodrama about it? They haven't given straight answers on this issue by now, something is definitely not right. [Post edited 22 Mar 2021 9:12]

it is so obvious to anyone who watched the forum. The issue of BBM's contract was a question that should have been directed to the CEO...not Rawlinson. That the CEO sat in silence throughout was an utter showing up and cowardice on his part. Crikey...normally, it's hard to shut the bugger up, but on this; not a peep. This is part of the problem, and sadly, the announcement of yet another lip service paying club/fan get together will not appease the supporters. The Trust needs to be really tough with this, even if they end up upsetting the CEO. That's what they are there for... to represent the fans best interests. It's time for the CEO to go.
Trust statement on 20:07 - Mar 21 with 3621 views | judd | I am loathe to criticise the Trust volunteers and all the hard work they do on behalf of all supporters, but as others have pointed out, charters and procedures are just part of the endemic lip service that has been so obvious since the CE became the be all and end all of the club. I admire the determination of the Trust to work with the club and not against it, if only that sentiment was genuinely reciprocated. I would insist that the club representative in dealings with the Trust is a different Director who will get things done - I would be asking for Tony Pockney (no offence meant to other Directors).

The starting point is for every single meeting to be documented and put out on the Trust site. People would be less likely to pay ‘lip service’ when they know their words will be relayed to the ENTIRE fanbase. Only that way are any procedures that are apparently in place able to be assessed as effective. For a start, there will presumably be a full documented report from the meeting re. next season’s ticketing.

I thought all meetings were documented, the minutes agreed and then published? I refer you back to the tyre bollox after the Bradford game and the subsequent promise of skips have been ordered. All published and on the website. It took a year to shift those tyres. Not a fook was given about the bombastic verbosity being published and the statement's inertia.

That’s the issue with failed planning and lack of process. Note the ‘action points’ that sometimes appear. These should then be covered at the start of the next minutes. Sometimes things will be included in Trust newsletters, sometimes on the website. This is something that enables such issues like the tyres, like the Trust pitch covers, like fixture boards like many other things over the last decade and more to meander on so nobody is really sure what happened. Then it means people have to go searching all over the place for quotes and information. Which frankly wastes everyone’s time, especially if nothing changes. And it hasn’t. People have to care first and foremost to make things better. If they do they’ll have no problem with doing things properly, to timescale, and explaining to supporters if this doesn’t happen. And if this means the Trust banging on and on about tyres every single meeting until action is taken, so be it - as others have mentioned before, they should have no problem if the club are annoyed if it’s part of representing supporters. And the club should be looking at themselves as to why they’re annoyed.

No, but if people really wanted it to work, it would do. It’s a culture and a mentality that has existed for far too long. Despite protestations, that has to be acknowledged before anything changes.

Possibly could work. But that’s the reference to culture. Similar issues have existed over various regimes.
