The Hobbit. What a dreadful place. Full of 90's hipsters or whatever they were called back then. Only went in once.

A pub which had a very discerning clientele was The Northumberland Arms. The closing bash in there was particularly good with all the local Gentry in attendance.

The Glebe was another such establishment.

Another one round there was the Queensland by the RSH, just looked like a house.

That rings a bell

The Royal Oak.

Yeah it was the Oliver Goldsmith, was a very "interesting" place that pub, was rumours it was a drinking spot for an IRA cell for a while and i can remember some NF/BNP lot went in there on the way to some sort of rally (can't remember what it was) about the mid 90's.

They were mouthing off inside about who they were and ended up being kicked to f*cking pieces by the irish lads who drunk there and left in a pile on the street in Onslow road.

The Hobbit was never full of "90's hipsters" you din

It was just a student pub, and a pub for underage drinkers too, that's why the lost their late licence.

Correct, it was a student place, never was a hipster pub. Used to be alright in there, decent music

Decent beer garden for the summer to be fair, plus you could get away with smoking spliffs in there and they'd turn a blind eye.

Do you mean Sobar? Started out as a decent boozer that, the manager was a Saints fan and even gave us a free couple of crates of beer to take to the 2003 final on the minibus (corona ironically).

Went downhill though when the owner say pound signs from the students and ripped out the old bar from the middle and turned it into some cavernous club/bar.

Shame really as it was one of the few decent boozers left in the Valley/Corridor that hadn't been ruined by the students.

Is the snooker club still open by the Bargate ? We used to go in there whilst still at school and they had no problem serving us beer.

Trust no one in a circus.
