Crowd on Saturday 09:24 - Dec 9 with 4065 viewsrobith

Took a bit of time to warm up, but after all the stories of online abuse in the week, I was really taken aback by just how supportive the crowd was on Saturday. Everyone was right behind the players, full of positive support and everyone seemed genuinely chuffed with the clean sheet at the whistle.

Probably my favourite home match of the season thus far

There is a lot of difference between people that go to matches (plus our far flung supporters)
and the professional online trolls looking for attention.

This.

Always been the case since the dawn of the bloody internet that the strongest opinions and hostility frequently comes from those who weren't even at the bloody game.

Partial agree, but LR is also quite bad for the aggregated sigh at a missed pass and a lot of personal abuse of players. But not a drop in sight of either on Saturday

My son was in the Fulham end against us and said you think the abuse we hand out is bad, you should listen to their lot (and they're in 3rd place!).

Saturday perked up as the match went along but there's something about a Preston game that can send even the most vocal fan into a coma.

On the stream it came across as very supportive. The other thing I noticed was that at 2.50 there was hardly anyone in their seats. Are they serving better beer at LR these days?

"The opposite of love, after all, is not hate, but indifference."
Poll: Player of the Year (so far)

I mean, it's ultimately just a football fan thing isn't it.

A lot of my pals from school are Man Utd fans and I recall watching a game in Fergie's last season with them, cantering to the league title. "He's Sh!t" "He's useless" "It's a conspiracy"

At full time I said "Lads, it's a good thing your team is good. You'd have heart attacks otherwise"

ALL football clubs have this and a lot of it is worse than we get, especially at clubs with supporters who feel entitled to be challenging for Europe every season but are somehow still in the Championship.

The crowd wasn't big - but I would say the most supportive this season - right from the kick-off. Lumley especially got a round of applause every time he did a good kick or through out. As a result, his confidence visibly improved throughout the game - which led to him making that fabulous save. Long may the support continue!"

Crowd's gettting older and people want to spend as few minutes as possible in a confined seating position that were it not voluntary would constitute cruel and unusual punishment.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Not to mention the opportunity to say things anonymously vs being brave enough to say to it their face. If be shocked if even 10% of those trolling Lumley would be willing to say it directly to him, even if they were shouting it from behind the protection of several hundred other fans!
