Hurst wasn’t approached by us. He said to somebody in the agent world that he wasn’t interested in managing us and then appeared at the Oxford game in the guise of a scout.
Ian Evatt claims he wasn’t approached by us but someone in his ‘camp’ put it about that we had approached him and then interviewed him at the Norton Grange. Turned out to be utter bollox and, I suspect, an attempt to catch a rat, as it were. The Sun’s Alan Nixon fell for it, so I doubt whoever is feeding him will be getting anymore info.
If BBM is announced today, it makes sense. I understand a permanent manager has a greater deal of flexibility with regards EFL regs etc than a caretaker. If the board want BBM, then doing it now puts us on the front foot going into the summer, whatever division we’re in. [Post edited 3 Apr 2019 7:26]
