QPR could leave H&F on 17:00 - Feb 6 with 12924 views | DejR_vu | Trying the same tactic as Warren Farm, asking for the land for nothing to save the borough the costs of maintenance / upgrading? I think the council/borough have a point. There must be a better way for them to go than to give the land away. From our point of view i think I would want some pretty concrete reassurances that we aren’t going to end up as tenants in a new stadium with the current owners trousering the proceeds of Loftus Road before i’d be lending support. QPR could leave H&F on 17:09 - Feb 6 with 12859 views | BAWHoops | It's becoming fairly obvious that we won't be staying in the borough with the current owners at the helm unless they decide to redevelop Loftus Road for an incredibly huge sum of money. Question will be how far West will they take us?

QPR could leave H&F on 17:10 - Feb 6 with 12849 views | Nov77 | Hammersmith & Fulham Council has called on QPR fans to lobby their owners to hand over the ownership of their club to the fans so it can remain in the borough. A Hammersmith & Fulham spokesperson said: “We’ve had many meetings with Tony Fernandes and his team. He’s lobbied us to turn the current QPR stadium into housing and even lobbied us to add in the nearby council homes on Batman Close so he can become one of the biggest developers in White City — one of the hottest development neighbourhoods in the country. “We’ve been extremely clear that we will never hand over people’s homes on Batman Close to any developer and cannot give any land away for free. If QPR’s owners won’t put their money where their mouth is and invest in the current stadium we’ve offered to consider other options such as renting other sites. “We think this is a crunch point for QPR. We call on the owners to put the club and its fans first and consider an FC Barcelona-style fan ownership. We love QPR but don’t see it as our business to help QPR’s owners engage in property speculation.”

Basically saying if you want what's best for the club then prove it by putting fans on the board. This would stop the selling and developing of LR for the owners profit as the fans wouldn't allow this

just Listened to the podcast, Whole thing looks like a property deal designed solely to recoup Tony’s losses. If he moves us out of the borough there’ll be uproar.

So fans are unlikely to lend huge support to either TF or the council IMO.

What planet are the Council living on? White City is a fecking building site which they have played a huge part in helping developers "develop". Ask any of the residents in Batman Close would they like to be relocated into new housing at the same rental value and I think the answer is yes. I have been on this horse before and suspect that the Council (who have little money and with less to come) are seeing what they can negotiate from QPR. The Board should firmly "stick" on their position as QPR have all the cards. Local councillors are a curse on any planning and development plans. In my experience, they are petty-minded and obstructive. I am sure QPR are being advised to stay the course here - I hope so.

I think most fans would support it if they felt it would be to the club’s benefit but most are sceptical.

We could do it if the council were keen, but would involve buying up £100m worth of houses just to knock them down. Some detail here https://www.qpr.co.uk/media/15164/whyqprneedtomove-a4-v5.pdf

QPR could leave H&F on 17:36 - Feb 6 with 12632 views | WestbourneR | From what I hear the problem is that we're not offering much in the way of money / social housing in return for the land. It's a Labour council and they want lots of affordable social housing in return for the LC stadium. At the moment our proposal is - Loftus becomes luxury flats that we sell and make ££££ from. - LC becomes a stadium, events venue and luxury flats. So I can see why Rangers want to try and re-coup some money from what will be a very expensive move but I can also see why the council want to make sure it serves the community more. QPR have my support but they have to make a deal that has more legs that OOC.

Largely agree with that. Councils everywhere trying to wring ridiculous amounts of money for any land/services they hold or offer. Which is fine if they realise that they have to negotiate rather than stick to prohibitive valuations which no one can afford to take up, and from which the council then earns nothing. However, I can't agree the Board hold all the cards here, as long as the club continues to lose money each year. Losses of about £10-12m each year will make hanging around for H&F to agree to a reasonable deal a good deal less attractive.

Yeah, tbh I wouldn't worry about that too much it just means that they would take your money for the planning application, review it and then reject it. Even pre-planning advice isn't worth much.

'Brainwashed rag reading right winger rails against 'left wing' socialist policies that defend the rights of the working class to proper housing' Somehow the left wing, which has done more for the working class than the right wing of the Tory party ever has, has become the enemy of a large proportion of the working class in the UK and it's very very odd. While a super privileged right winger like Rees Mogg, who doesn't care at all about the welfare of the working person at all, is a champion of the white van man. I have absolutely no idea how the right wing press have managed to pull off this totally non sensical con trick but they really have and it's remarkable. Brexit is its greatest achievement. Europe, which has done more for workers rights that any UK government ever, is seen as the enemy of the working man. Sunderland car workers vote against the very trade block that has directed work to their region. It goes on and on. It's insane. Turkey's voting for Christmas left right and centre. The success of the right has always been down to the alliance between the aristocracy and the cap-doffing nationalist working class. If it weren't for the progressive middle classes we'd still have feudalism.
