Whilst I don't hold with the militant approach LU workers have I am certainly in favour of Night Tube Drivers being paid an enhanced amount due to their hours, environment etc

Despite all the gripes and grumbles my underlying vibe is I am grateful that such people allow us to travel around this City of ours via their efforts.

Have worked on LU as a contractor for 13 years, I’ve always wanted to be a train operator, would be interested in attending to see what it’s all about, not sure I could manage on the initial £18k a year at the moment (mortgage and baby both on the way).

Hi Bakes, we have night tube drivers on the Piccadilly line with no more than 6 months experience and they’re going to be full time soon.

Also, night tube drivers start on around £25k per year.

At the moment it’s only Piccadilly, Northern, Jubilee, and Central.

Jubilee has short waiting list so you might be able to do Stratford?

If you go on to be full time there are quite a few Depots out east, including Barking. Just need to request a transfer.

I'm considering a career change and all options open

However I'm not sure I could do Friday's and Saturdays!!

I recall when I was a Safety Quick Fix Contractor on the Piccadilly Line they were beyond hot on drink and dope tests, and that was about 18 years ago. So no going into work hanging then!
Maybe I'll just do my track awareness etc again and become a Centurion -- do they still have them for the night works?!?!

headhoops, female drivers are still small in numbers, but the management have been trying to raise the numbers over the years.

Luckily, we don’t have to reverse park the trains :-).

My missus is a better reverse parker than ANY man I've ever seen drive and can get our car into a space with 12" either side. I measure it with my hampton so she's even better than you think.
