For goodness sake chill out 17:28 - Apr 9 with 7092 views | rock1n | There's so much anger on this site, it's quite ridiculous at times. In the short term we're right in the mix, when it wasn't that long ago we were doomed to relegation. People forget this, we WERE down we didn't stand even a glimmer around the turn of the year. We've got an excellent, ambitious young manager who is still learning his craft. Rome was not built in a day. Whatever happens if we get relegated, we need to get behind our new manager to get us back up. If we stay up, fantastic then we build for next year. This negativity is doing nobody any good, the obsession with Huw Jenkins is classic Swansea. We love to love and love to hate, when reality is usually grey. Stop moaning and start getting behind the team, our support is p1ss poor at the moment and it has been for a while.

Lets be honest, you ve gone to games ,looked around and thought... just what cheap shoes. Why do I mix with these Plebs

For goodness sake chill out on 10:49 - Apr 10 by Kerouac | I disagree. Since we have been in the Prem the atmosphere has been getting worse year on year IMO. I put this down to many season tickets being sold at the outset to people who didn't really attend much pre-Prem...they bought them for themselves and their kids, many old school fans found themselves locked out of the Prem party. These people were only here for the success and have renewed every year. They have become bored, are going through the motions and will disappear on our relegation. For that matter all of the old school types who got their season ticket and have renewed every year since have become bored and are going through the motions also. We have become stale, there is no new blood coming through (other than the spoiled offspring of the middle class). Our crowd is an old one. All of the passion has gone. When we go behind I like to start singing and upping the support in general, it's embarrassing when you are middle aged and singing on your own though! |
Some points you make I agree with. But this site is a constant search fo who's to blame. My beef is that the last people to blame is the fact that the fans ...are not singing. When you have a board that seclude a party that may disagree with an upcoming sale of shares. A board that take their eye off the success on the pitch, to ensure their success on the sale of their shares ...should have the blame laid before them. The very last people to blame are the fans, be they old, young or kids.....they...are at the very bottom of a long list of people who are to genuinely to blame.
For goodness sake chill out on 11:49 - Apr 10 with 1152 views | perchrockjack | Lor Apportioning blame is merely a release from pain. Its all too evident what has happened Fans are pretty much shell shocked . When one is traumatised,so to speak, its either schtum or scream. I don't take defeat well, ever What is the bitterest pill is that this debacle has been so unnecessary as we ve handled the initial hardest years then ,by utter incompetence, thrown it away. Without doubt ,Swansea s biggest commercial calamity for many years. People will lose jobs, the area, depressed already ,will lose further income and world wide profile YET some dot see this as a problem as they will be less "plastics" at games. You talk about fans , that might be a problem actually as ,on here, there are clearly many who see themselves as top grade fans, better than others. I'm not sure any other club has this attitude. You re either a fan or not, whether you are able to go to a game or not

Couldn't reply any sooner because the recent bout of adds for this site is screwing up simple replies. Richie,I don't care if supporters are from Greenland or like, but I really can't believe that the horrible mess we are in is anything to do with our fans. We fill the stadium every home game, the away fans deserve praise for their efforts and support. Taking your eye off the squad and the smooth running of the club, of buying and selling players for the good of the club, and not for the good of a balance sheet and share valuations is where the blame should lay. We, as mere paying fans, can do little about it.

But you can go to games you just can't be arsed. Surely you're not saying you're as much as a fan as someone who travels the length and breadth of the country watching every game? Seriously you are either mentally ill or you are the stupidest man on the planet. Fuçking hell.

I wouldnt blame the fans.....the blame for our prediciment lies with one person for me a true traitor to the cause..a Judas of modern times I hope his 30 pieces of silver give him peace. My comments about the silent crowd on Wednesday was just meant to show how the atmosphere in the Liberty has changed......the team needed us on Wednesday but we didnt really show up ....as they didnt on Saturday! I do not blame us fans for where we are but in our remaining games we need to get behind the team or if they are not doing the business lets let them know!

Indeed. A few whinging tossers on here and twitter is neither here nor there. The support in the stadium has been good (when there's been something to shout about). Each away game i've been to has been well suported. The fans are the least if the problem. IF we are relegated though perchie isn't underestimating the impact on the city. It will be huge.

For goodness sake chill out on 17:44 - Apr 12 by rock1n | Thanks for reminding me, the problem with your argument is that I was advocating something very similar just in a much younger, alcohol induced tone. I was saying we need to get behind the team, so in many ways I've stayed true to my roots I just feel we do revel in negativity at times, almost seek it out. I watched Palace the other night, everytime I watch them their support impresses me and it really is like a 12th man. Maybe I'm an idealist, but I really do believe that when the sh1t hits the fan you get behind the team. That is true 'support' not just 'following' your team. Something hilarious about being castigated as a modern glory hunting fan, my views are shaped by seeing my team nearly go bankrupt and get booted out of the league. I can't hate the people who saved us, I just can't. It doesn't make sense to me, just as I can't hate Roberto Martinez who was instrumental in both saving the club and elevating the club. I don't see this as a 'crisis' far from it. [Post edited 12 Apr 2017 17:44]

Paragraph 5 Its business, clean or mucky , where theres muck theres Brass! Martinez.......its football, wanting to be the best, and lets be honest its down to him in the first place our run and the football started, I remember my son comming home after his first few gaes in charge and drooling about the style of play we wereusing. Sadly I feel the Swansea Way has gone, and will be laong time before it s back, if irt ever will, and part of our problem is ..weve lost that style and just another team, and a poor one at that. Palace support was outstanding, but I wonder what it owuld have been like if they were down 2-0. The north Bank Vetch days are also gone.
