Christ, I hope the Rodgers rumour is true. The past is the past, I'd take him in a heartbeat right now.

He wouldn't come here when unemployed post Liverpool, when we were better placed and with a better squad. Zero possibility now

he was still being paid off by Liverpool, so would have lost that cash if he had come before the end of the season

I didn't want him in the summer but I agree. But I think there's zero possibility of him leaving Celtic or of us paying the compensation.

I agree with the second bit but not so much the first - surely he must be getting bored at Celtic by now. Haven't they pretty much sown up the title and we are barely half way through the season? Even he must think it's Mickey Mouse football.
New manager on 15:24 - Dec 28 with 4745 views | monmouth | It'll be someone out of work who can't get anything else. Then we'll sign Caulker and Adomah and someone for the midfield. Is Mark Davies off his crutches yet?

Perhaps I should be more clear and say 'zero chance of him leaving Celtic for us'. He can wait and get a better job than us I would imagine.
New manager on 15:49 - Dec 28 with 4543 views | JackFish | I can't see Rodgers wanting to leave Celtic to come back, he'll fancy another crack at the Champions League next season. Likewise we've never been the type of club to actually pay another club for their manager, so that rules out Wanger and Stam who have been linked as well. It'll be someone out of work I'd imagine, hopefully Marcelino, but Hogdson or Redknapp wouldn't be too bad either. Please not Ryan Giggs.
New manager on 15:56 - Dec 28 with 4476 views | Dr_Winston | There is no benefit to Rodgers in coming back here. At the very best here he's looking at upper mid table finishes and the odd cup run. He's not going to do his reputation any good retracing his steps. At Celtic it's trophies galore and the chance to play in the Champions League every season. A few decent results against the big boys and he starts to look good again.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

There is no chance of Rodgers coming. More likely to see Roberto.

More chance of Roy Rogers coming - especially as we've just sacked Trigger. [Post edited 28 Dec 2016 16:06]

I was happy to see Guidolin given a chance to build a team. I also thought Rodgers didn't back himself by coming to us last January.

That bit didn't bother me (him leaving us for Liverpool I mean). Never been worried about that sort of stuff - same with Roberto. I was more concerned that he wouldn't come here last January - thought it showed a lack of confidence in his own ability, and I thought Guidolin should be given the chance to build a team. In hindsight of course, Guidolin was given no chance to build his own team.

No manager is given a chance to build a team. They work with the team built for them. Rodgers was the perfect option for us in the Summer. A huge array of contacts in the game, a reputation known around the world which would attract players and somebody who Jenkins would trust to bring in players. But because some people are still sulking that he left us for the second greatest team in British football, they would prefer to see Guidolin given further chances, despite him showing last season he was not up to the job.

I think that rather shows that the odds are nonsense. It would be a perfectly understandable move. I've never understood why people pay so much attention to betting odds.
