I have yet to speak to anyone who is voting remain within my business (and it's a big business)! The polls show remain winning, but tailored by political leanings of each.

You're right - far better view of the real world given by Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson. I'd wager Paloma Faith learnt a lot more about the real world growing up with her single Mum in Stoke Newington than Boris did in Eton, but why spoil the narrative?

Really? Which are the 'most' of them that don't live here then? Because of the ones mentioned in that article I can't see the 'most' that don't. And they're not implying that at all of course - they're saying that a lot of artistic projects are funded through cross border collaboration and in some cases directly through EU institutions. Obviously it's possible that the UK government alone would fund the arts to the same extent - who knows, but what they are saying is correct as far as I can see. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Most of the names I've seen are certainly barely resident here. Granted not seen all 250, so... The EU institutions they refer to are the same EU who want Netflix to carry a specific amount of "European" material, apparently. How very dare Netflix, a private company run their company as they see fit. The arts have always had fairly decent funding within the UK. As times got tougher the luvvies whined and whined. I mean how dare places like ENO have to run themselves as a business. Why, plebs should fund things like a hospitality area for patrons being converted to a private dressing room for Glenn Close ( who then pulled out... )

Who named is not resident here? I take no notice of what any of them say but outraged comment about them being tax exiles is just nonsense. And the arts is not well funded on the whole - either nationally or locally (the music provision in what was still for this purpose West Glamorgan has just been ditched). Not everything in life should be run as a profitable business - that's why we pay tax - to pay for things that make our lives just that little bit better. [Post edited 20 May 2016 17:30]

Didn't mention tax - and you know you don't need to be an exile to have interesting tax schemes, the entertainment / arts have shown that many a time. Run as a profitable business? No, doesn't have to be profitable. Just run with a bit of common sense. Which is something the arts tend to avoid where possible - ENO being the biggest example. [Post edited 20 May 2016 17:47]

Luvvies Remain on 18:32 - May 20 with 5134 views | crackerjack | This whole thing about "EU funding" is disingenuous bollocks anyway. The EU hasn't got any money of it's own... it's handed over to them by the taxpayers of the member states via their Governments. The UK is a massive net contributor and so pays in far, far more than it gets back. So remember..... whenever you see or hear "funded by the EU" it really means funded by the UK taxpayer.
