I watched the last episode of line of duty and thought that was good. Undercover has finally grabbed by attention. I quite like some of the investigative programmes Stacey Dooley does. However I can't wait for the next series of people just do nothing.
Finished off Vikings this weekend. Sad times now it's finished. Also polished off the rest of Tehran. Excellent stuff, looking forward to the next series.

Spiral - I've watched the previous 7 series, and I'm 1/2 way through the final series, so I obviously enjoy it, but I have to say that there is always at least one completely implausible event that takes place (often involving Gilou) that is completely and utterly daft, out of character or just wouldn't happen in a million years.
Fantastic to see JP getting half-a-dozen lines in the final series. He normally just stands around in the background, and pops up on a scooter or motorbike towards the end of the final episode, where he says something like, "Okay" in response to an order. This time around, I feel his character has been allowed to develop and we really know him now. I bet my wife 50p that JP would have more than 5 lines in this series, so it's been a nice little earner too.

One entirely believable feature of the new series is that the children's home is a shabby old barracks, the cops are in a tin shed on a trading estate, and the lawyers have a gleaming new marble tower.

But has it ever? I’ve always thought that Spiral was like the reverse of an advert for tourism to Paris.

I've been watching it too this lockdown following recommendations on here. It's win-win as I can kid myself it's educational too as I'm remembering some French from back in the day. Although i think I'm learning more swear words than actually revising the language of Proust. Putain.

I’ve just seen The Dig on Netflix about the Sutton Hoo excavation in Suffolk. It’s a bit corny in places with some unnecessary subplot, but it looks great and Ralph Fiennes in particular is terrific. He looks strangely like Bobby Charlton these days. In real life, his character was actually five years younger than Carey Mulligan’s.
I also saw the John DeLorean BBC documentary, which was an unnecessarily gimmicky telling of an amazing story. Yikes, Roy Hattersley isn’t looking well.
I’ve just seen The Dig on Netflix about the Sutton Hoo excavation in Suffolk. It’s a bit corny in places with some unnecessary subplot, but it looks great and Ralph Fiennes in particular is terrific. He looks strangely like Bobby Charlton these days. In real life, his character was actually five years younger than Carey Mulligan’s.
I also saw the John DeLorean BBC documentary, which was an unnecessarily gimmicky telling of an amazing story. Yikes, Roy Hattersley isn’t looking well.

I can't work out whether I have a crush on him or whether I just really want to be his mate, but I reckon he'd be a ridiculously interesting bloke to go for a beer with. Seems like a thoroughly good egg. And he's from Acton, so he might even be Rangers.

Well, it was ok but a bit over-rated to my mind. Too much on relationships and felt they could have included some interesting technical detail or potentially generated more excitement from the actual excavations. Of course there were some inaccuracies and anachronisms although that's no big deal - but the more you look, the more you find?

I haven't watched The Dig but I have been to Sutton Hoo.
A tip for anyone who plans to go (when it is open and we are allowed to, obs): While it is interesting, the bulk of the treasures are actually in the British Museum, although there are very impressive replicas at Sutton Hoo.

I started re-watching 'The West Wing' last night. On the off-chance that any of you have missed it, it's complete quality.
Used to be my all time favourite series, might still be but having watched so much in the last year, it's hard to say. I started re-watching the series again many years ago and I think I got up to series 3 when something else distracted me. I also tried watching it on C4 when they re-ran it but the adverts just ruined it for me so had to stop. The last episode of series 2 where it closes out to Brothers in Arms, is still up there as one of the best season finales.
Might be worth a thread, "music and non related video combine to elevate both to a different level". like Nessun Dorma and Italia 90, best demonstrated in Kevin Allen's World cup video diary.

I remember watching the Kevin Allen thing at the time and enjoying it. I'll give that a watch later, thank you. I'm sure you know, but he's Keith Allen's brother (but I don't think he's Fulham - boo!).
I'm running out of things to watch so I caved in and shelled out to download the first series of Deadwood. Master Sheen can't believe his ears - they were allowed to talk like that on TV? As an aging git, I tend to rely on subtitles for mumbly bits of shows, particularly when someone is working in the kitchen. No subtitles on Deadwood - if ever a series deserved and needed them...
I'm really enjoying Wander Vision on Disney+, slow to get going but is now the highlight of my week when a new episode comes out. I have become a bit of a Marvel Geek though so you probably need to have watched all the films to enjoy it.
