Directions to Spotland

Whether you're coming by Car or by Train, this is how to get to Spotland Stadium, home of the Dale.

By Car Getting to Rochdale by car is in fact very easy indeed, and it is signposted from not too far off the motorway. Exit the M62 at junction 20 signposted Rochdale, Oldham A627M, following the direction of Rochdale. Follow the dual carriageway till you get to some traffic lights (ignore your Sat Nav if it tries to tell you there is a Roundabout here). Stick to the left hand lane, and follow the road round with a Tesco on your left and some car show rooms on the right and you'll pass underneath a bridge marked "Rochdale Birthplace of Cooperation".

This will bring you out at another set of traffic lights (again Sat Nav is likely to tell you there is a roundabout here). You need to go straight on at these lights onto Roche Valley Way.

Follow this road to the top until you get to a set of traffic lights (with the Cemetery Inn facing). Go straight through the lights which takes you straight onto Sandy Lane itself. Follow the road round, and you will see the football ground on your right hand side after approximately half a mile.

Or just stick OL11 5DS in your sat nav and do as your told.

By Train It's just over a couple of miles from the train station to the ground. Uf you're walking, bear left down Tweedale Street coming out of the Station for about half a mile until you hit the Manchester Road dual carriageway. Turn left then follow the dual carriageway till you get to a major crossroads with Tesco facing you. Take a right at this junction and it's a straight road then to the ground. If you fancy a taxi which will cost you between £3 and £4, then any of the following companies can be booked from the station to the ground:

Town Taxis 01706 750750

Streamline Taxis 01706 644104

Tiger Taxis - 01706 641114
