Saints At Barnet The Verdict
Saints won a tight game 1-0 at Underhill tonight.
It was a surprisingy youthful look to the starting XI against Barnet in the penultimate first team friendly tonight as Alan Pardew already having to cope with injuries to key players opted to rest several first team players, hence the side lines up Davis, Butterfield, Rancine, Martin, Dickson, Mills, Carter, Holder-Spooner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Barnard. Hammond, the surprises being Rancine at centre back and trialist Darren Carter from Preston in the centre of Midfield,
Carter who cost preston £750,000 from West Brom 3 years ago has found himself surplus to requirements at Deepdale as the Lancashire club look to cut costs drastically and has recently featured for Millwall but couldnt agree terms.
The game was settled six minutes after the break with a goal from Joseph Mills who was playing in midfield with the return of Ryan Dickson at left back after injury.
A good work out for Saints with several of the younger players showing that they could play a big part in the next nine months.

Southampton V Manchester United The PreviewThis is being billed in the media as the game that could see the sacking of either of the managers if they suffer defeat. I don't see that happening, but for Russell Martin this is a crucial game and one that he has to show that he can change things.
