Goalkeeper Danny was brought into the club in November 2004. His career as a keeper began at his hometown club West Brom, but his release from there saw him head to Spotland. He initially signed on a YTS contract, before being offered a professional deal later.

Woodhall was a regular in the reserves during his time at Spotland, and despite his inclusion in the first team squad on a number of occasions, he never made it off the bench to actually play for Dale.

He was released from the club in April 2006.
