Southampton Learn Opponents In The Carabao Cup 3rd Round
Can Saints repeat their exploits in 1979 & 2017 by reaching the final, hopefully the 3rd round draw will be kind to them, find out who they have drawn here. One thing for sure it won't be Nottingham Forest from the 1979 final who went out on penalties in the 2nd round.
With four Premier League clubs being knocked out in the 2nd round, namely Nottingham Forest, Ipswich Town & Bournemouth, Saints will be hoping for a favourable draw in a new format where teams in Europe can be guaranteed home ties.
It is bitter sweet for Saints, a trip to Goodison Park to take on Everton, however a good chance to visit the old Stadium in it's final season and not the hardest tie we could have had.
Ties will be played weeks commencing 16th & 23rd September
Liverpool V West Ham United
Manchester City V Watford
Arsenal V Bolton Wanderers
Manchester United V Barnsley
