Player Having Medical At Southampton Today
According to usually reliable transfer source Fabrizio Romano, Saints have a new signing undergoing a medical today with the deal agreed and all being well he will become the sixth signing of the summer.
givemesport.com are reporting that Fabrizio Romano has claimed that AZ Alkmaar right-back Yukinari Sugawara will join Southampton today after completing a medical.
Romano is usually one of the more reliable purveyors of football transfer rumour, so this one could be true.
Romano later confirmed that Southampton will pay a fee of around €7m (£5.9m) including add-ons.
The arrival of Sugawara could ring alarm bells for Saints fans who are hoping to see Kyle Walker-Peters remain at St Mary's. The right-back is out of contract next summer and he's been linked with a move away to several clubs already including former club Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
The 24 year old has had 4 solid seasons in the Eridivisie and has amassed around 120 appearances and has also been capped by the Japanese International team.
