Southampton Release More Tickets For Trip To Blackburn Rovers

Saints have sold out their initial allocation for the trip to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers on Saturday 6th April and sales for the trip have gone well and now there have been more tickets released.

Saints initially received around 2,200 tickets for this clash, with more available should demand be there, clearly the demand is there and after the Lower tier allocation has sold out, the upper tier tickets have now been released with around 2,000 more now on sale.

Hopefully these too will be snapped up, although I suspect that many will wait until the results from the two games over the weekend are decided.

Blackburn Rovers are a club in turmoil and it is fair to say that the supporters are not keen on their owners, however unlike some of the clubs in this division, they don't get precious about giving extra tickets to club's whose away fans travel in numbers.

We have had quite a few games away from home this season when we have sold out our allocation yet despite plenty of room in other parts of the ground the home club would rather see empty seats than give the visiting club a seat more than the minimum they have to provide, take a bow hear the likes of Swansea City, Watford, Plymouth, Birmingham City & Huddersfield to name a few.

Some Saints supporters might agree with that policy, certainly some have been complaining that so far this season the club has always offered the visiting club 3,000 seats.

However some of those same people are the first to complain when they can't get a ticket at the likes of Birmingham or Watford because we only get the minimum 2,000 tickets.

Back when football was football and stadiums were rarely full, the invasion of a travelling army was always looked forward to both when it was ours and when it was a visiting team to the Dell always ramped up the atmosphere, so I am glad that in times when football clubs are struggling for cash, that some don't get precious about tickets for away supporters, certainly we have benefitted this season with many clubs giving us more than the 2,000 that they are obliged to provide.
