Saints On Verge Of Completing Transfer Deal For Defender
There is movement in the defensive transfer market for Southampton FC this week with a permanent deal set to be completed in time for the weekend's games.
Will Ferry is set to leave St Mary's and join Cheltenham Town , the 21 year old left sided player who although primarily a left back can also play as a wing back or in midfield has found opportunities to play blocked and is behind Romain Perraud, Kyle Walker Peter's Thierry Small & Jake Vokins in the pecking order at St Mary's
Hence he never managed to play a first team game for Saints, although he did make the bench on 11 occasions in 2020/21 before spending last season on loan at Crawley Town making 37 appearances in League Two.
With a year left on his contract the offer of a move to League One with Cheltenham was a good opportunity.
There is no details of a fee as of yet, although I would suggest it would be minimal but including sell on clauses etc.
