Dale handed trip to Old Trafford in Cup

The reward for beating Carlisle United on Tuesday evening is a trip to Manchester United in the 3rd Round of the Carabao Cup.

For many, this is the dream draw with a trip to Old Trafford lieing in wait for Dale supporters. It will be a huge financial boost to the club and a great opportunity to take the biggest Dale away following since the last time we went to Old Trafford.

No details have been released with regards to tickets or date for the game but a similar fixture last year saw an away allocation of over 8,500 tickets. It is expected due to United's other fixtures that the game will be held on Wednesday 25th September, but this is not confirmed.

Our only previous senior meeting with them was a twice postponed FA Cup tie back in 1986 where United ran out 2-0 winners.
