Saints Chasing Deadliest Striker In Europe

Saints are allegedly after the deadliest striker in Europe, although they may have Newcastle United to contend with if they are to sign him.

Wolfsburg striker Bas Dost is statistically the deadliest striker in Europe, his 16 goals were scored with a inversion rate to chances of 41% and this is better than any other striker in Europe, even Chelsea's Diego Costa is nowhere near that with 34.4% and Mess may have scored 43 goals but he needed nearly 4 times as many chances to notch that total.

With Wolfsburg having an abundance of attacking talent Dost was restricted to just 17 starts in the Bundesliga, but when he got a chance he invariably took it.

Now Saints and Newcastle are believed to be interested in signing Dost who by a strange co incidence is believe it or not Dutch and an International to boot.

However what could be the stumbling block is that Wolfsburg after finishing 2nd in the League are now in the Champions League for next season and Dost might prefer a place on Wolfsburg's bench and playing in that competition to moving elsewhere
