Manchester United Join The Chase For Schneiderlin
Manchester United have jumped ahead of Arsenal in the chase to land Morgan Schneiderlin according to the latest media frenzy.
It is funny how transfer rumours suddenly start, last week most of the media outlets were claiming that Morgan Schneiderlin to Arsenal was a done deal and that all had been agreed between club and player, today those same journalists are no frothing at the mouth and claiming that the Frenchman is about to sign for Manchester United.
If nothing else it shows just how shallow even the best rumours are and how certain journalists are manipulated by certain clubs and agents to put out information that suits them, whether it has any real substance or not and that once a few have done so within a short period of time everyone else follows making it look like the rumour is cast iron.
What it should show the average football fan is just how the industry works now and that you should not believe all you read whatever the situation surrounding a player.
If United are now chasing Schneiderlin then its good news for Saints fans, the player has publicly stated he wants to play for a Champions league club and that means that he is highly unlikely to stay at St Mary's for next season.
That being the case the fact that United may have joined the scrimmage is good news as it can only push the price up a bit.
There are some that will berate Schneiderlin as some sort of traitor, but I think that would be very unfair, out of the five big names that left last year,Scneiderlin deserved a big money move in front of all of them, he had put in more service and been loyal to Saints for six season then. Now he has completed a seventh and he has done so by not throwing his toys out of the pram by some, but by getting his head down and putting in hard work for the club.
Having done so he deserves to go to a big club in the Champions league and he will hopefully do so with the best wishes of Saints fans ringing in his ears.
