Cav loses appeal
The Football League have rejected our appeal against Peter Cavanagh's sending off at the weekend and the three match suspension will stand.
It was always expected to be a long shot that the ban would be lifted. Replays showed that his foot was high and it made contact with the Burton midfielder Robbie Weir, but hopes were high at the club that it was a reckless or careless tackle rather than a dangerous one.
However, the FL disagreed and the ban stands. As a result, Cavanagh will miss this weekend's home game with Chesterfield, followed by the trips to Plymouth and Oxford.
