Wall collapse won't affect Dale
It's expected that Dale fans will still be housed in the away terrace at Exeter despite the much publicised collapse of the wall behind the away end.
Dale fans have traditionally gone on the open away terrace at St James Park for many years, and it had been expected that we would be in there again on Easter Monday when we visit Exeter.
However, the photo above was all over Twitter on Saturday following the collapse of the wall at the back of the terrace, and there had been fears that we'd have to go in the "Grandstand" at St. James Park if the away end was deemed to be unsafe,
However, intial examinations of the away suggest that there will be no problems despite the issues with the back wall.
Grecians Chief Executive Julian Tagg told the local press: "It was assessed on Saturday morning and like so many other examples where the water table has risen exceptionally this is another case in point,"
"We will commence repairs on Monday, but the initial view is that it won't affect away support. The safety advisory group will be meeting on Monday to discuss whether that is the case or not, but that was initial view at the time."
"It never rains but it pours. It is yet another challenge which I have no doubt that the club and supporters will rise to and resolve to as they always do."
