Saints Fans Flocking To MK Dons
Saints are set to take over Stadium MK.
Saints fans are heading to the MK Dons stadium for the JPT Southern Area Final in large numbers, so far there have been over 2,400 tickets sold out of the 3,000 allocation and Saints are preparing to take another tranche meaning thhat there could be as many as 4,000 Saints supporters backing their team.
The MK Stadium currently holds 22,000 and has the potential to be increased by fixing seats into the upper level, however it has never been filled with the record attendance 20,222, that for an U21 game against Bulgaria in November 2007.
For an MK Dons home game its the 17,717 that saw them take on Leicester City last February, that crowd surely bolstered by a large number of Leicester fans making the relatively short trip down the M1.
So on Wednesday that figure might well be beaten if MK Dons fans respond as Saints fans have, the average attendance this season is 10,203 with a high of 16,713 and a low of 8,633, this in itself slightly down on last seasons average, so Dons fans have to have an increase on their average if they want to see the ground record broken.
Indications are though that it wont be and Saints will haave a significant percentage of support in the stadium, creating the atmosphere and showing the JCL fans of MK Dons just what their Wimbledon forefathers saw at Selhurst Park 11 years ago.
