Barnes-Homer leaves Spotland
Loanee Matthew Barnes-Homer becomes the latest loanee to have his time at Spotland come to an end.
MBH was always something of an enigmatic signing when previous manager Steve Eyre brought him to Spotland on loan. He was in a position where he was unable to get into the first team at Blue Square side Luton Town, yet found himself drafted in to League One.
The gulf in standard was unfortunately all too obvious to see, and whilst he managed to make seven appearances for Dale in various competitions, it was clear that he wasn't good enough and his first half appearance against Colchester will go down as one of the poorest seen by a Dale player.
Reports suggested after that Colchester game that he was told there and then that he would not play for Dale again.
We would like to wish his next club the best of luck for the future.
