Buckley sale brings sell on to Dale
The sale of Will Buckley from Watford to Brighton for £1 million will see a chunk of cash heading our way after a sell on clause was included in the original sale to Watford.
Just how much will come down to the actual figures involved. The sell on clause is rumoured to be between 25% and 40% based on the profit from the original sale. The original fee was claimed at the time by Chris Dunphy to be in the region of £300,000 but Watford later claimed that Buckley would need to achieved a number of clauses in the contract for the fee to be as much as that.
So overall, we're probably looking at a fee that is in the worst case scenario a minimum of £175,000 from this deal, with perhaps more to follow that.
Buckley's time at Dale saw him make 69 appearances for the club, scoring eighteen goals during that time.
