RIP Kris & thank you for writing some wonderful songs. I suppose that Me & Bobby Mcgee, Help Me Make It Through The Night & For The Good Times were his most well known, but my favourites were Sunday Morning Coming Down & Loving Her Was Easier (Than Anything I'll EverDo Again). I wouldn't say that I'm a big fan of Country, but I am of Kris Kristofferson. |
| Forum Reply | Never a straight Red Card at 19:51 29 Sep 2024
Watching on Sky, I immediately said it's a sending off. The second angle they showed had me in the caution camp & the third angle was back to a red card. 10 seconds from half time & losing control of the ball, was not the time to make any tackle though. I think it was worse than the challenge Fernandes was sent off for today, but not as bad as the Martinez one that only received a caution! |

He will have to make a huge difference to Enfierld Town if they are outside the relegation places when his loan finishes! |

At least, he will be available for our FA Cup run. He can't get cup-tied as Enfield Town have already been eliminated! |

I've not had the pleasure of visiting this fine facility, so I can't get past Layer Road, Colchester as my choice. My recollection is one sit down & three stand ups for the whole of the away end. Our matches there in the early 00's were great fun! Back to topic! John Byrne was a player who I liked & had lot's of time for. Alongside Don Masson as the two players I'm pleased we signed after they performed well against us. Stanley as well, of course, but I can't accept that he wasn't already on our radar! |

I know that they've only played 4 home games in the NLS, but Chesham United are averaging over 1,000 so far this season. Two years ago in the Southern League over 500 was regarded as big! Torquay, Maidstone & Dorking appear to be the top atendances , along with Truro who are currently reaping the benefits of having moved back home. For those of you in the Surrey area, when did Dorking start attracting the numbers they are getting? Sitting at home on Saturday recovering from surgery, I felt more involved following the Chesham score at Maidstone than I did watching Rangers on Sky. Really pissed off when Maidsone went in front on 88 minutes, but I had to stop myself celebrating equallising with the last kick of the game! On the other hand, Hemel are top but struggling to reach 900. |

They had three players in acres of space. The player who received the ball in our penalty area, the player who dummied the ball & Whatmore. Dunne, Cook & Clarke-Salter all moved too far to our left trying to pick up who the ball was played to, leaving their own man free. |

That was great hearing how excited Alfie Lloyd is. He won't be getting much sleep tonight as he replays his goal over & over in his mind! Did we deserve a point? Possibly not, but Wednesday definitely didn;'t deserve to win! I thought Heverton was quite ok at right back. Nothing special, but no disasters either. The three players that disappointed me were Andersen, Madsen & Dembele. Keito made a difference when he came on & gave us options to go forward. |

Cheers Clive, I enjoyed listening. To answer Jim Frayling's question (which you basically did), the loan market is still available for National League clubs & below, but not for EFL clubs. I doubt that we would be entertaining Kolli or Lloyd playing at that level though. |

If I'm interpreting this correctly & director/owner loans loans were stopped, that would be the end of Queens Park Rangers & many other football clubs. Probably many clubs in other sports could go under as well. The difference between now & in the past is that you can only "loan" into the club whereas you used to present the club with those amounts. |

IMO Woods was a major reason that we fell well short of promotion that season & I was delighted when he left for Norwich. Norwich did make a big profit on him though, selling him to Glasgow for £600k & it might be that the main problem with his time at Rangers was inexperience. I still think that Hucker was a better 'keeper. |

I see that they are playing in the big match on Saturday, away to Paradise. Top against second. |

Inverness etc was an amalgamation of Inverness Thistle FC & Caledonian FC, two of the three Inverness clubs that played in the Highland League. The third club, Clachnacuddin FC still play in that league. |

Thanks Camberley. I always seem to forget about Just Fontaine! |

The best English goalscorer in my lifetime IMO. I do find it funny that I claimed that he wasn't as good as Charlie Austin & that Austin should have played for England instead of Kane! An excellent international goalscoring record, but not quite in the same league as Gerd Muller who scored 68 goals in 62 games (14 goals in 13 matches in World Cup finals). That is comparing his record with the greatest goalscorer I've seen though. [Post edited 11 Sep 10:09]

An interesting answer? Probably not. The 74/75 season started with a regular event, Jim Gregory falling out with the manager! I think Gordon Jago resigned & was re-instated before the start of the season, but it wasn't long before he was on his way. We started with two away games, drawing at Sheffield United & winning at Leeds (reigning champions), but like recent years, we struggled to win at home. Our first LR win waited until October & we defeated Ipswich in a bottom against top match. We improved greatly after this & especially after Don Masson arrived. Ipswich possibly should have won the league that season & certainly the FA Cup, with Mills stating in March that we were the best team in the country at that time. This was when the seeds for the 75/76 season were sown. We also might have won the FA Cup if West Ham hadn't kicked us off the pitch in the 5th round. They did the same against Arsenal in the next round & Ipswich in the semi final. The refereeing in all three matches was a "little" baised towards the thugs of Gould, Robson, Jennings etc. Rangers & Ipswich both had two players injured in the first ten minutes from "strong" challenges. |

I remember the day well. I was visiting my girlfriend near Ipswich & broke up with her that day. Mainly so that I could start going to Rangers away games! I still remember every minute of the wins at Wolves, Derby & Leeds. Well, Leeds would have been a victory if not for the cheating ref! The girlfriend? We celebrate our golden wedding next February on the day that Rangers play at Portsmouth. There's no chance I will get to that match, but I expect the same result as on our wedding day when we won at Carlisle. |

If yoy're released/paid off from your contract outside the transfer window, you would have had your contract paid in full or an agreed amount. Are you not technically still employed during that period? You certainly could not claim unemployment benefit. |
