To put it into perspective we were two players short of our starting 11. Why oh why doesn’t Ralph change things. Doing tactical analysis on us before a game must be so easy for the opposition. We would rather play square pegs in round holes than change things. And more so, what we are doing is not working! 1 win in 14. 1 point from 10. 1 second half goal in 10! We went on a bad run last year but covid stopped football and we came back stronger. Our high press works well but when we get tired it doesn’t. It’s like our season replicates how we play in games; strong start and then fizzles out. |

Ralph has to take the blame here. We do not vary our formation for the opposition and he does not tactically react during the game. Which results in playing square pegs in round holes and wondering why things go wrong... Djenpro at RB. Diallo at LB. Ings left midfield. The last two lead to goals conceded. Playing from the back whilst being pressed against Arsenal, conceding a goal and not changing it. Yes the squad is thin but let’s not forget 5 prem teams didn’t sign a player in Jan. whilst Vokins and Valery may be fringe players they would be needed in our next game and played against Arsenal and didn’t do that bad. So why let them go?! In the last 9 league games we have won once, scored 3 and conceded 17. But watch us play the same formation and tactics in the next game. |

Ralph has to take a lot of the blame last night. It was obvious from very early on we couldn’t handle the high press with the players on the pitch; Stephen’s kept giving the ball away which cost us the first goal and nearly more. It’s frustrating to watch. Walcott is just not good enough, we need to look past the nostalgia. His decision making is terrible, he just runs into players, bad passing and isn’t a natural finisher. On the bright side Diallo looks good and Armstrong played very well. Hopefully we can at least make some loan signings as unfortunately those academy players are either not good enough or not ready yet, we need to stop believing in our own hype on this matter. |

We need to play 4 at the back with two holders at most. Why on earth do we play 5 at the back with two holding midfielders e.g against Cardiff at home. This is a must win game and we need to go for it- 4-2-3-1 - redmond, Armstrong, sims/prowse behind Austin. |
