fans couldn't be more supportive at games really, a few booed Celar on Saturday but that was more due to his lack of effort than him being not very good. Given how bad we've been the last 10 years it's incredible how much support they get |

I hate to break it to you but managers sometimes lie about these things to try and spin a positive narrative
His team selection and reactions to al lot of those signings during games paints a different picture |

would have been interesting to see what he did if Lloyd didn't get injured, he clearly knew Celar was playing when he backed him in the pre match thing and knew he was the only option |

have to say I do admire Lampard and Rooney for at least having a go when so many players from that generation haven't bothered. He's not very good though, seems a mad appointment for them |

for me it's not about the quality of the player it's the failure to put a team/squad together. Squad wise we have 1 option up front at the moment and he's not really suited to this game model of one up front. Madsen also doesn't really fit into how the team want to play. We've not brought in midfield players who can keep the ball and move us up the pitch and we have no depth to the squad. That's the problem with the summer signings, individually they all have good points to their games.
It just feels to me that the only way we can win games is men behind the ball, keeper has a stormer and we nick the first goal somehow, that's how it was last season and it's not progressed.
Last nights performance was pretty similar to Derby and Blackburn even Middlesbrough but we got the first goal which we didn't in those games and had something to hold onto |

Yeah I'm pleased he scored on a human level but his lack of pressing or holding up of the ball was a big problem again for us last night as we just couldn't get up the pitch second half. He looks like he has to play in a front 2 but our piss poor recruitment means we only have 2 strikers at the club so not something we can do regularly
Hopefully though those goals give him some confidence and he can get a few more in the next few weeks, lets face it we all want him to do well no one was pleased he looked so crap the first 16 games |

thought he was really poor first half was like playing with 10 men then he scored that goal out of nothing, really pleased for him to get off the mark and his second goal was a lovely finish as well.
Hopefully he can kick on now |

It's the worst start to a season at home in our history
We're currently 13 league and cup games without a win for the 2nd time in 3 seasons which also includes a 12 match run without a win last season.
To put that in context the most games we've gone without a win before that was 15 in 2012/13 and you have to go back to 2002/03 to find a similar run of 12 games and 13 in 2000/01
You then have to go back to 1968 to find any run without a win which is higher than 13

but the roof hasn't come in, he made a mistake, it cost us a goal and he then got his head down and played reasonably well after that. I've not seen that much criticism of him to be honest
I completely disagree with you on Cook but I don't want another back and forth like we had with Lyndon Dykes so I'll just leave it |
