| News Comment | Southampton Board Split On Russell Martin Situation at 21:23:06
I think that after our performance (or lack of) at Bournemouth, things are looking very bleak for Martin’s time at Saints. Would much rather Potter as a new manager as apposed to other Championship managers. It quite often seems that Saints are reluctant to employ people with a track record, and end up going with people who might raise their game and succeed. Even names like Moyes and Lampard have a track record of getting results in the Premier League. Will be very interesting to see how things play out over the next few days/couple of weeks |
| News Comment | Koeman Situation Nearing Conclusion ! But What Will It Be ? at 11:35:15
There is a very fine line between keeping a dignified silence if there nothing to report; versus making a statement to update fans with the situation. The thing that I think we have to remember is to put our faith in the Saints recruitment department. There have been many appointments that have seemed 'out of the box' at times, but have actually proven to be very astute. I for one had never heard of Mane before he turned up at saints for example. All I hope is that there is a final decision soon so that the club can move forward |
| News Comment | Saints At Liverpool The Verdict at 18:50:17
Totally agree with what you have said. If you think back a few years, and we would have been extremely happy with a point from a trip Anfeld. This also shows how far we have come and how or expectations have risen over the last couple of years |

What was also very nice to see, was how much possession Chelsea had but how little they did with it. As you mentioned, our defence seems to be getting stronger with every game. Virgil seems like he's been playing for us for an awful lot longer than he actually has. So pleased for Davis for getting a goal after the hard graft he puts in. |
| News Comment | Poch Says Don't Fear Future at 10:23:36
Saints have had a great season and I think we are playing some of the best football we have played for many a year. I also think that decisions made over these next couple of weeks will send a clear message out to fans, of the intent of the owners of the club. When Saints reached the FA cup final, the club missed an opportunity to perhaps move up a notch, and I think that we are at a similar situation. If we want to 'step up a notch' then it's very important that we keep as much of the squad as possible and perhaps add to it to strengthen certain areas. All fans fear uncertainty, and perhaps it's the uncertainty of what may happen over the next couple of weeks that we are feeling at the moment. Having said that; it is great to be a Saints fan. Life would be very boring if we weren't!!! |
| News Comment | Saints V Arsenal The Preview at 11:57:55
Can't wait for club football again. I think we have played better football than England did against Germany. I think we hold the ball very well at times. It would be so nice to come away from the Emirates with a result on Saturday, and as you said earlier, shows how our expectations have risen if we come away having won 1-0 and are disappointed we aren't top!! |
