Clive it’s been said before but your reports, somehow, just get better and better. Supporting Rangers is somehow made immeasurably more bearable due to your reports. Please, never stop!!! |
| News Comment | Clarke-inspired rally comes too late for QPR against Bristol City - Report at 21:09:05
Absolutely bang on and I'll try to get the John Prescott image out of my head. Genuinely thought we'd equalise in that last 15 mins, far too slow in first half but really showed what we're about when we play with a little more urgency. Also that last comment regarding FFP. If only the window-lickers who comment on FB et al would actually do realise what's going on with FFP it would really save a lot of half-baked, ignorant comments. |

Cracking game and report! I like the fact that Warbuton doesn’t mess around with subs on the sideline for 10 mins. He makes a decision and makes the change. It’ll be interesting to see if/how he plays Eze and Chair in same team. Would be great if he could them and BOS in as the 3 behind Hugill or Wells. |
| News Comment | Kane and Pugh make it a summer dozen - Signings at 21:29:15
It looks like Warbs has tried to go for a strong squad rather than just a good first 11. It’s amazing how we’ve managed to get the these signings in, on what seems like from the outside, a relatively small upfront outlay. Given the money we’ve got in from the sales I thought most, if not all, would need to cover the money we no longer get from the parachute payments. It’ll be interesting to see where we are as a team (not just on points gained) come the end of August as we’ve 6 very tough league matches to start with. Here’s hoping to a decent start as I thought we looked a world away from the team that played just a few months ago. Pessimistically optimistic. |
| News Comment | Back to life, back to reality — Report at 20:33:09
Was at the game yesterday and yes, there wasn’t much to write home about. There was a period that we started creating a few good chances, probably last 15/20 mins of the first half, we actually tried to pass the ball through midfield, spread it wide and make an attempt at goal. However, all to often, and for most of the games I’ve seen this season, the play is far too slow, we have the centre backs looking up, no movement from anyone in front and they end up just making that long diagonal ball. I’m not expecting Man City but professional footballers know you have to move and find space in order to try and create chances. I hardly ever see that happen. When we do, shock horror, we start creating chances. Shame we seem unable to keep doing the basics right on a regular basis. |
| News Comment | Boredom in its purest form — Report at 19:14:25
I thought SM would have brought on Eze soon after he made the Pav/BOS change. The game was crying out for a bit of invention rather than trying to lump the ball forward - It hadn't worked for 60/70 mins so why continue. Really thought they'd be there for the taking in the 2nd half but it was a painful game to sit through. There has been a lack of movement up front and in the advanced midfield areas recently, you can see the space begging to be run into with an intelligent pass to follow but it just doesn't seem to happen. Hoping for much better on Wednesday. |

Clive, your articles are without doubt the most well written, honest, funny, and original reports I’ve ever come across and long may it continue. Happy New Year and let’s hope the club can continue to exceed our expectations and give the play off positions a real go. |
| News Comment | Slick, composed, professional QPR sweep past Ipswich — Report at 11:46:08
Great report as usual. It really starts to ramp up in January with some very tough fixtures. Excluding the FA Cup game we've Villa and Sheff Utd away and PNE and WBA at home. A real test of the squad and it's difficult to say what's a realistic points total from those 4 league games, anywhere between 6-9 would be a decent return. With that in mind I wouldn't be surprised to see a much changed team for the Cup game. |
| News Comment | Big trouble in little W12 - Report at 10:53:16
Viewed from upper loft. I thought we we're playing quite well up until the goal but the confidence completely drained from them after the 1st goal. Poor defending from Bidwell and very weak from Ingram. I don't know how you can prevent that as a coach apart from dropping them for the next game? I thought we still had a goal in us until the Sylla substitution after which we looked a spent force. Agree we should have had Smyth on. Sylla and Smith have never really worked as far as I can recall. We're still be there on Saturday hoping for better with new signings, and interesting to see who'll keep their place from Tuesday's game. |
