Don’t get too excited guys - 15 mins or so doesn’t make him a star!
Not sure why Selles didn’t give a few of the young lads longer in the last few games. Livramento is here for Summer- no sensible PL club would sign him at this point when it’s not sure how good his recovery is. By the way, he looks better further forward (right wingback or midfield); his defence is a little suspect. |

For me (and the supporters around me yesterday), the worrying thing was that we were actually WORSE yesterday then before RH went! If six weeks of NJ achieved this standard, I shudder to think what half a season will produce! At least he has a reasonable Championship record. |

Not going to give ratings to all players, but some specific comments! Naitland-Miles was dreadful- too laidback and never up to speed. Bazunu (by far our best keeper) - has shown further frailty under high balls (not just own goal), but still great shot-stopper and great with ball at his feet. Lyanco - best centre back on field and only player showing the passion we need this season. Elyounoussis (who I have had no faith in) was probably our Man of the Match!Stewy Armstrong and Edozie were the real game changers.
Finally, Nathan Jones, bad starting lineup (never should’ve started with 3 centre backs), but good early switch to back four and Armstrong & Edozie were game changers (although I would have started Stewy). |

Would you expect Benali to be any other than positive? He has to be. Although I think Ralph has some excuse with restrictions on recruitment, I am not sure he makes the most of the squad he has. As the season approaches I am getting more and more concerned about our PL survival. |

Selling KWP would be disastrous! By far our best fullback and we have no replacement- if he goes do we play Adam Armstrong at right FB/WB & Djenepo at left FB/WB? We have no replacement for KWP - and I don’t mean no good replacement, I mean no replacement at all! |

Can I be the first to point out that there are no blind players in either men or women's teams ( nor wheelchair players)!
In all seriousness,the point about selection on merit is the key one - ethnicity should (and I expect is)irrelevant.
It may be true that certain ethnicities don't play certain sports as much as others.
By the way, anyone noticed the lack of gingers in the current England men's team? |

After the Leipzig game, it's obvious who the no 1 keeper is!
Having said that, RH will start McCarthy. I also expect him to start Stella & Adam Armstrong at centre back ,KWP as target man and Bednarek wide on the left (so he can cut in on his right foot).
I'm fed up of this "I see them in training,so know who to pick!".
I see them on match day ! |

I predict a 19th finish to season, and thus relegated!
Not sure the point about "gems like Livramento & Broja" is at all accurate. Broja looked good for a while, but then forgot where the net was (and is a Chelski player anyway. Livramento was/is mainly hype - reasonable going forward, but can't defend (poor one on one and constantly dragged out of position). For me KWP & Perrault were our first choice fullbacks.
The buy them at Aldi, sell them at Waitrose analogy is spot on. I still wonder where all the money for players sold has gone! We need a proven striker to stay up - Che might get 10 goals if we're lucky, Adam Armstrong 2 or 3 (and I expect yesterday's accounts for one of them).
The strategy of bringing in youngsters and "developing "!them before selling on is a high risk strategy - and when we get caught out and relegated, it will be a long time before we get back to PL!
By the way, the only transfer that has me mildly excited is Aribo |

Sorry Ligue 1 is nowhere near as competitive (or as high a standard) as PL. Pace is slower and generally players as less good. Having said that, I’m all for this signing as it’s the first real link with a true striker so far. I can’t believe that we are still linked with more midfielders and little seems to be happening with strikers. |

I'm ambivalent. He has tremendous raw talent - quick for a big guy, difficult to get off the ball and has a good touch. We do need a consistent striker - 15+ goals per season please - and we don't have one. I think 20 mill is a fair valuation as he dropped right off towards the end of the season (which might happen if we actually bought him). However, there is no sign of any other striker in our sights, so the bird in the hand etc...........

Worried it's a big gamble - totally untried at PL level. He may look good at B team level, but gulf in standard to PL. Difficult to know how Pep rates him because he has one or two useful midfielders to call on in his first team squad. Also I'm not sure it's a priority for us - we are actually well covered in midfield. |
