The old Wylfa nuclear power station, adjacent to the proposed site of the new reactor. It was closed in 2015. It started in 1971. So clearly that was well established with the welsh language all around it .. for decades. Its almost like it must be something in the new plans that caused the new problem. Twitter is saying ….. ‘Wylfa Newydd wasn't cancelled because of the Welsh language, this is a completely political spin, Wylfa was dropped because of refusal from Westminster to give the funding. Horizon actually did its best to make language commitments such as requiring that 85% local Welsh staff …’. What about the recent jobs lost in Port Talbot and Grangemouth, Scotland ? All the fault of the welsh language, as well…? Wales can have both good jobs and the welsh language. Thats just normal the world over. Take off your union jack sunglasses mun, they are not showing you the full picture … [Post edited 9 Feb 9:12]

Well said, the Brit Nats ‘go to’ is the false NHS beds vs Welsh language nonsense. Never mention of illegal wars, covid corruption, or Brexit costs. All enourmous costs. Its almost like the real agenda is being anti the welsh language. |

I am amazed you have picked a side. Well done for getting off your fence for once. I think i am pursuaded by the limitations due to time passed. You make a valid point. You left the treatment of Wales by the forces of the English Crown off your list. Your sense of history is an Anglicised view of history. Wales was not conquered in 1066, of course. |

Well said Builth. Why others cannot see through this man is hard to understand ? Brexit has failed. |

Agreed. Yma O Hyd makes sense. Who can forget the Welsh national anthem at the Vetch by Kev Jones just before the Hull City game. Swans never looked back and Hull looked scared to death. Is White Riot unfashionable now ? |

Yes there is, village idiots are worse. Especially smug ones. Whats your view on the Reform plan to privatise the NHS then ? |

Exactly - Euro16 to Stoke City …. ffs …. I think Joe was a superb player, one of Swansea’s finest ever. Discovered by Roberto whilst in our youth squad. His game at the Liberty vs Reading made it clear this young man was going all the way. And then that goal at Ninian Park. If Joe was 3/4 fit he could do a job for us. A joy to watch. That proves my point. The privatisation has failed and its being handed back to welsh govt. Health care should never be run for profit. It says … ‘Earlier this month, Morgan said she was "deeply concerned" about claims that doctors had not been paid and patients were unable to get appointments at surgeries managed by eHarley Street. In November, BBC Wales revealed locum doctors were refusing to work at Welsh surgeries managed by the company because of claims they were owed around £250,000 in unpaid wages. Doctors also warned of "dangerous" staffing levels and "potentially catastrophic" supply shortages at practices supported by the GP management company. All of the claims were denied by eHarley Street, who have previously said they were "committed to addressing these challenges". |

We need young people as we have an ageing population. Choice is young people from EU, young peoole from India/China/other, or less public services for our old people. I do agree it needs to be legal migration. Reparations - who knows ? Difficult given the elapsed time. Reparations were put on the Germans in 1922. We all know what happened soon after … |

You are the worlds greatest comedian fair play …… my sides are killing me …. You could learn a lot from young people. But you are so out of touch you don’t recognise that fact. I am not sure if its arrogance, stupidity, or both ? |

Farage wants to turn the NHS into an insurance based system where you pay in to be covered. Do you really want that ? Its not about better patient outcomes. Its to get money into the hands of his wealthy mates. You cant be this out of touch surely ? I know you have had a few bangs on the head, obviously, but i do not believe that you woukd support this. Every previous privatisation has gone badly wrong, worth keeping in mind. Your beloved Nigel is a Spiv. [Post edited 8 Feb 9:45]

Wales never voted to join the English crown. Wales has never been asked in a referendum if they want to stay under London rule. I am open to a modern union with 3 member nations, plus the north of Ireland. But its not currently a modern union. The benefits are increasingly hard to see. If Ireland and Scotland exit then that would create the conditions to ask the indy question in Wales. So not yet. |

I said it was ‘crazy mad’ …. But thats Trump for you …. How would you break the cycle of war and conflict then ? |
![](/images/avatars/9736.gif) | Forum Reply | Trump haters of the forum at 17:39 6 Feb 2025
Its a good point but i think he will. Trump operates at a transactional level. And at a transactional level it makes sense as it ends the war and makes millions. Not sure 2 million Palestinians will agree though. That said the cycle of violence needs to be broken for everyone’s sakes. Imagine if Trump pulls if off, its crazy mad but it could end the simmering violence. |
