Going into a game that’s likely to be against the Dutch without a recognised fit left back is all of Southgate’s own making. He’s been about giving opportunities so surely he needed to pick someone like Mitchell in the squad. Without the balance, Foden isn’t able to perform because lack of support so attack focused down right and middle making it easier to defend against us. |

You don’t think that first 30 minutes was more down to Serbia showing us too much respect and giving us too much time on the ball. We’ve looked ordinary when sides have pressed us. |

Think it’s embarrassing to turn up at a major tournament and for our manager to say he’s experimenting with a guy in central midfield. |

That’s very unfair on Taylor. Lineker and Waddle were at the end of their careers. They were nothing like at the level under Bobby. More importantly, Gazza was injured for 1992 euros and big Holland away qualifier. Barnes did his Achilles before 92 euros so missed that and for my mind was never the same after that. 2004 was great but we lost Rooney when 1-0 up. Like losing Bellingham at that stage. Well I can only speak for myself. I think he has done a great job, particularly at creating a club-like mentality in the England set-up. But I also think he’s got a talented squad like none before him. Poor old Graham Taylor would love to have had a chance with half the talent he has. That said, Gareth’s done well but no harm in debating how we can improve and what he should do better. I want us to win the Euros. I don’t think TAA in midfield is going to achieve that. But then I also didn’t think Jimmy Dunne should play right back….look how they turned out. Why do we have to bring politics into it? I’m trying to get away from all of that! |

Beckham and Rooney were great passers and good at free kicks. Both were terrible in central midfield for England. Trent is ok there but we have plenty of players who play central midfield regularly for their clubs. Give one of them a go. |

I didn’t realise that as to be fair I’ve only watched about 5 Liverpool games last season but with Jones (who I quite like), Elliott, McCallister, Endo and Szosobolai and Gravenberch, wasn’t sure how he’d have ever played there. |

England lack of left backs…..this is England not QPR. We struggled to find someone to cover Dykes a while back….but we’re little old qpr. I don’t understand why England can’t just include an actual left back who is fit in the squad. What about the Palace left back, Mitchell? I dont watch much premier league but isnt he better than a bloke who's injured and a right back playing left back? Didn’t Gomez play there when Robertson couldn’t play? And Trent at centre mid. If he was so good there, why didn’t Klopp play him there? Again, can’t we find someone else in all of England who plays central mid for their club to partner Rice? |

Sorry meant to upvote and ended doing both. Completely agree on TAA. Please can we just play players in their positions for their clubs |

Obviously biased but for me he has to be part of the squad for exactly reason he was the best player in 1st half. When it’s a slow game, he can provide the difference. I don’t understand why he gets taken off for Grealish. Hes seen Grealish play. Give Eze more of a chance. |

Sorry to jump in and I didn’t want to post any strong opinion on this thread but it’s more the increase in people claiming and the long term sickness. It’s gone up by 800,000 from 2019 to 2.8million. I totally get that there are plenty of people that can’t work and they should be looked after. But 2.8 million people of our work force? It’s systematic of the way we are. It’s always someone else’s fault. Even the work force, it’s all this working from home stuff and this ridiculous claim that it’s much harder life nowadays. Absolute nonsense. Life can be tough but people should just get on with it. The tax dodgers at the top, the lazy self-entitled benefit cheats and it’s the rest of us who has to pay for it all. |

Diane Abbott looked to be shaking quite a bit at times. Is she ok? Or is she just getting old? I didn’t realise she was 70. I admit I’ve never agreed with much of her policies but respect her a lot for what’s she achieved. She should be treated better but I also do think that at 70, why not just step down and take it easy. |

Yeah to me that’s no excuse. If you attend and see it. Either call it out or don’t go again. Otherwise you’re complicit. |

But there is an anti-Semitic element in the marches. If I was part of a march and the EDF were part of it, I wouldn’t go the next week. So for me, it may primarily be aimed at Israel but there is also an acceptance of the anti semitic element |

But that again is something I don’t get. Because someone else does it, then I can do it. Although I don’t get how breaking Covid rules means I can smash up Wembley. How politicians behave has absolutely no impact on how I lead my life and treat people. If I’m looking for people to set as an example to my kids or who I looked up to when I was growing up, it wasn’t politicians! |
