Everybody is welcome at Spotland. 2000 regulars 600 occassionals 1000 from united 1000 from City 399 from wherever that even leaves one seat for any intrigued closet Dale Biffo. |

My OP was taken word for word from the Sunday times last weekend. Whilst there could be journalistic license at play there is no doubt the crowds at Bromley are have been on an upward trend. Closer to home Stockport have seen significant crowd increases in the last 10 years. The obvious difference (compared to Dale) is both Bromley and Stockport have had a winning product on the pitch something the football club must not lose sight of. When I say winning I mean promotions not the occasional home win. |

Project 5000 is a great initiative as its so specific and so easily measured. I am hopeful that the club gets the dynamic people in place to make this happen in the not too distant future. That said when the incentives start flooding in and the marketing machine starts we all have our part to play as well to get this moving forward. When will the BOD lay out the creative and dynamic plan so we can all get right behind it?. |

Not sure it will have started yet James.. the snow (and cold) has been pretty bad at Spotland the last 48 hours. The forecast is set to improve dramatically though. |

Looks like it can be done. Interesting article in the Sunday Times last weekend with Andy Woodman at Bromley. One paragraph stood out and encouragement for RAFC. "The capacity at the ground is 5000 and we sell out every home game. When i came to the football club the average gate was 900 and we had 200 season ticket holders. Now we have sell outs and 2500 season ticket holders. The owner and chairman Robin Stanton-Gleaves is building the club very intelligently. |

Fantastic initiative by the club and well done the 3 players Ryan Tarryn and Kairo... Two things jumped out to me. 1. The players seemed genuinely happy to be involved. 2. Which player would you most like to have dinner with?.. Quick as a flash they all agreed Toby.. TAR is obviously a real character and as well as a very decent footballer some much needed fun in any dressing room. Dale have scored some own goals in the last few weeks (IMO) but this was spot on. |

Totally Agree YD. There is blue sky over Spotland (Midday Friday) and the ground temp is above freezing. In 24 hours time people will be popping on there jackets, hats and scarves and setting out to Spotland (or not). The forecast is not that bad between now and 5pm Saturday so with a plan and some will there is every chance of a game. |

The weather on Thursday has been fine and bright (chilly and frosty yes). I assume the frost covers have been laid down ready for what looks like a cold possibly snowy Friday?. Then Saturday looks like a winters day nothing really out of the ordinary. The groundstaff (Hopefully) have a plan A and a plan B to ensure we kick off at 3pm on Saturday v Stockton. |

This issue does need to be front and central regarding focus. Could the trust stump up £150k (has it £150k to stump)?. The other consideration is the guarantee regarding shelf life and where to store (properly) for 10 months of the year when these expensive new covers are not required. Oldham was monsoon like so where does the water go when its swept away?. Boston really was an embarrassment that i hope is never repeated. The lack of planning for miniscule amount of rain i can only assume was non existent. |

I understand several weeks of rain followed by 48 hours of torrential rain Tuesday and Wednesday morning made the situation impossible. sticks in the throat still when between 2.30pm and 5pm New Years Day overhead conditions were near perfect. Lets hope we get the game on when Saturday comes. |

The decision needs reversing immediately. Dale put back to back wins on the board… could be 3 wins on the bounce on New Years Day… Winnable tie in a cup competition we are taking seriously and we close half the bloody ground. Is it to much trouble to open and run some incentive to actually attract fans rather than pop up a barrier. Very unhappy and a touch frustrated by this. |

Excellent 3 points and a dominant display. More of the same please New Years Day!! Winning football will put more on the gate.. the easiest win in project 5000. Up The Dale! |

Weather Forecast really is a shocker.. (again). |

Boston much improved or a real chance for Dale to register consecutive wins? Cant help but think if we have any hope of kicking on and remaining top 7 this is one we really need to get 3 points. If we can find a way to WIN more consistently the remainder of the season will be exciting, hopefully one to remember. Dominate and clearly the better side - Win - 3 points 50/50 great game - could go either way - Win - 3 points Up against it and clearly not at our best? - Win - 3 points.... Hopefully that winning mentality and winning feeling continues on Saturday and we get into the winning habit in the final half of the season. Lets really kick on starting this Saturday. |

Cannot complain about the result especially scoring 3 goals and a clean sheet. The National League table looks a little better this morning. Tamworth workmanlike (at best) but unlucky not to take the lead 1-0 when down to 10 men. We will never know if we would have found the key to unlocking the Tamworth defence if they had 11 players on the pitch. It certainly looked hard work breaking them down for extended periods. Loving 3 points, back in the playoffs and another home game on Saturday to go and repeat the win. I dont enjoy the tactics, its too slow and laborious and just when you think we will really up the tempo the game slows again. I have accepted its different and i do think every player is committed to the cause and gives 100%. Whether this brings back a few hundred who sit on the fence i doubt but its not changing. Winning helps... Lets beat Boston and go for another shot at 3 wins from 3 on Boxing day.. something we have struggled to do (Only once?) all season. Nothing in this league.. with some ruthlessness a playoff spot should be there for the taking. |

Another home game on Saturday too... by the time we play Oldham we will probably be above them anyway. Absolutely Up the Dale. |

A win tonight and back in the play offs. Right back on Oldhams coat tails! Hoping for a positive performance and a loud vocal crowd!! Up the Dale!! |

Dammed lies and statistics ..... Dale league win % currently 50%. Only two teams matched or bettered that in 2023-24 Chesterfield and Barnet. a huge week coming up... i would just like the team to become much more ruthless. UTD. |
| Forum Reply | Dagenham match thread at 15:06 15 Dec 2024
I am not in a panic yet and two cracking home perfromances this Tuesday and Saturday will get me all excited again thinking we can go 3 wins from 3 hence 9/9 come 5pm boxing day. Just when we get a chance to kick on we fluff our lines.. most recently Eastleigh, then Wealdstone, then Dagenham... Just one goal in the last 3 league games (270 + minutes of cut and thrust league football) is the one stand out statistic. That was a comedy own goal away at Gateshead. I think the players have settled into a comfortable slippers mode. Part tactics, part leadership part culture they train full time and yet are starting to look nervy and toothless up front. I am happy to see what the reaction is at home this Tuesday and Saturday and hope that we start playing to our strengths at pace but this is a recorded message that has echoed all season. Unless the management and players have an upturn in form we could be in the bottom half of the table by 5pm on Saturday 21st December. Tamworth & Boston both picked up of late... neither will be easy. Come on Dale lets have some honest assessment of where we are at as a team have we the kahunas to become serial winners. |

I would hope we take it very seriously, The giants of Oldham are out this represents a good opportunity for a cup run maybe even silverware!! |
