So Francesco Guidolin, remains in a London hospital being treated for a chest infection. Let's hope he's on the mend and wish him a speedy recovery! FairPlay to Curtis and the team, they are doing a fantastic job in his absence!!!! Superb job. A crucial win over our relegation rivals today has given us a little breathing space, well done to SCFC! | Forum Thread | Swansea's relegation worries continue at 14:42 14 Feb 2016
Francesco Guidolin, the manager, was surprised with the manner in which his side allowed the Saints to take away all three points. He said: “During the week we worked very well and very hard and we chose a different shape for this match. I felt we prepared very well. But for first time in my five matches here, I saw my team play not very well. I am not happy.” *telegraph Let's hope we see a vast improvement then because if we carry on playing like that then we will most certainly be relegated |
| Forum Thread | Will Swansea City be playing in the championship next season? at 10:12 16 Jan 2016
Swansea have won just once since October and, in our last 11 league matches, we have picked up the fewest number of points (six) and scored the least We have scored just 11 goals from open play all season, its imperative that we strengthen the squad, especially up front. The next few weeks until the end of the transfer window are likely to define our season. Discuss! |

| Forum Thread | Is GM's Management Style Hurting The Team? at 11:55 6 Dec 2015
Obviously lots of discussion about GM's mgt skills and his future at the club etc, on these threads, but on the mgt issue what's your view on GM as a leader? I appreciate that he was only appointed last February as coach and some will argue that he needs more time but has he got the minerals to become an effective leader? One thing for sure is that his leadership skills are being tested to the max and he is on a very steep learning curve! Anyone seen the top 50 managers in the world list by Fourfourtwo? The one thing they say makes a top mgr is that they all have the ability to lead. There is no doubt that a leader's personal management style can help or hinder a team's growth and success, and unfortunately right now it seems very much the latter. Is GM a good enough Collaborator and is he able to make effective decisions and build the necessary support amongst his team and get us out of the shit? "Collaborators are leaders who are good at assembling team members, have something to contribute, and work with the team in such an interactive way that everyone contributes and buys in to the decision," I found this online , it's an interesting view on leadership: "At its core, leadership is about making key decisions and guiding the team to act on them. People in management positions can take various approaches to this task, and their personal leadership styles will determine if their teams and organizations will benefit or suffer". Leaders are responsible for improving the performance of organizations and "Two significant components of [a leader's] decisions are the quality of the decision and the level of buy-in associated with it. Effective leaders want them both." How would you describe GM's management style? My view is that it seems as though his style is of a competitor nature and that he would rather do everything his own way. This style of leadership means they often have good ideas, but when they're challenged by their teams through resistance or a lack of support, it minimizes or eliminates the benefit of these ideas. Competitors push their team for ideas to the point of frustration, which can lead to an effective decision but little buy-in from employees. "Settling for less than collaboration is a business decision – and often not a very good one! Let's make this shit happen!!!!! Come on the swans !!!!!!! JACK ARMY!!!!!!!!! | Forum Thread | Monk says Swans should be more confident! at 18:00 22 Nov 2015
We've got fantastic spirit, showed bravery and the defending is there and we've got good players but this is what's missing according to GM - Brightness, Sharpness and lack of confidence Let's hope he can deliver on these problem areas and let's start putting together a run of results. Discuss Garry Monk needs more backing from players, says Ashley Williams Link to BBC story: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34894355 |

| Forum Thread | GM superb tactical switch yesterday at 16:03 31 Aug 2015
What a decision from GM to execute a superb tactical switch yesterday gaving gone 1 down . Bringing on Ki Sung Yueng narrowed our midfield into a diamond shape and pushed Andre Ayew up front to partner Bafetimbi Gomis. Utd struggled and couldn't cope with the change. Awesome GM! |
