First half hour Bury passed it around without creating anything really noteworthy.
Dale were under a bit of pressure and yellow cards were rightly given for naughty fouls.
Then the man who could be said to have had the most impact did 3 things. Step forward Peter V.
1. Corner met with header that was cleared off the line and their keeper ended up concussed
2. Corner met with header that was poked home by Hogan.
3. Second yellow for a foul stopping a breakaway.
The rest of the first half was Dale defending and Bury pressing.
Onto the second half.
Dale did not change one thing. Not a jot. No personnel until 80 minutes.
Surely a gift for a manager who demands respect because he has done so and so. Add to that the bench chosen from the United Nations squad and the returning Ashley Grimes and the inevitable had to happen.
But it didn't. Bury did absolutely nothing in the second half. No shots for Lillis to save, a couple of corners easily cleared, that's about it. Well there was one other chance, perfectly made by Grimes who had been on for 5 seconds but Proctor didn't fancy shooting, perhaps it's not the done thing at Gigg.
There was 4 mins injury time, normally a nervous affair at 1-0, even more do in a derby, even more so with 10 men. Nowt happened.
